Yes they (I should say we), have got something from it. The government have declared a climate emergency which they certainly would not have done otherwise. We don't know what thet means yet. but the Dutch courts have said their government must implement their climate change commitments. Now that could happen here too. I think its great that the british are taking to the streets again, its the only way we can really get our opinions heard

More protests going on today, several in our area and monthly meetings set up (as far as I'm aware). Mostly the youngsters today, I think. I am noticing more and more where we are (North Devon) that lots more effort is being made by local businesses to sign up to go plastic free and use reuseable and/or recyclable containers and packaging and so on. I think the problem is (and I'm paraphrasing George Monbiot here)that even if everyone made a big effort to do the reduce/reuse/recycle thing it won't make a big difference because we've got such global environmental problems, so it will be like using a teaspoon to bail out a sinking ship. That's right, its not us causing the big problems but its still worth doing. The amount of packaging is grotesque,

They're back on the streets again! This time all over the UK, as well a London.

It's all about money when you involve the government. Recycle (we can sell the cans/bottles/plastic Get a diesel (now we can charge you more for parking) It's obvious it's about money when the thing stops or becomes more expensive. It's never about the environment...

They use the money excuse then waste billions on on stupid projects, as well as paying themselves and mates huge salaries and keep the gravy train running to jump on when the career falters. The whole system is corrupt and rotten to the core.

I heard the old boy on the radio. I don't get what arresting him would achieve, but can see why they did it.
