I remember my gran having the farthing with the robin on it, and the black jacks and fruit salads tasted better back then as well. 😋

left school at 15 was told you will soon wish you were back here no i did not, pits took lads in batches i missed it so started in a paint factory £5.00 a week 12.5p an hour was also told you will have to wait 50 years for your pension thats a lie it will be 50years an 8 months

oh shit your all making me feel old now..i started working in 1965 as a apprentice radio and television engineer my first wage packet was £2 16 shillings Lol, a friend and I were talking the other day about how there was a TV repair man on every street on our estate growing up, and now they're all sealed units that just conk out and you have to go and buy a new one. I had other people's old tellies for years (the big box ones) until about five years ago when I went and bought a 'posh' flat screen one. The telly's still working okay but it had a built in DVD player that started making a hideous noise the day after the guarantee ran out  lol |

Aye y' know when your getting old when your goldfish survive more than a week...
Ive put them in the allotment pond and they are doing fine. Swimming about quite happy.
Hiding under the bridge when it rains lol!
