Just popped back to make sure everyone is fully aware of new Orwellian laws coming into effect in Scotland in April regarding so called 'hate crime' comments that dont just involve comments made by peope living in Scotland but by anyone whos comments can be read online in Scotland and therefore can be investigated by Police Scotland. Furthermore even if those comments are not deemed of a criminal nature the ' offence' can still be recorded against you for posterity. This can include any comments made about any social group - Catholic Protestant Islam Israel Gay Trans, GC critical, women, political affiliations etc etc The list is endless and entirely subject to the judgement of the investigating authority and goes way beyond stamping out hate crime but in effect silencing anyone who criticises anyone where offence may be perceived to have been caused or felt. Obviously this applies to social media and here on this forum so please be aware. People have already served jail time for this or months of traumatic police investigation and seizing of elecronic device or property and found ultimately to have done nothing wrong. Its as much the process as the laws that are there to silence. Ultimately these laws may be overturned by the UK Supreme court at appeal but until then this is potentially the dangerous reality.
