Dirty Dancing was a low budget rubbish film never expected to go on release and it never did, except in a very limited way. Yet gradually its cult status grew and today it is one of the all time classics.
I would like to nominate two other films, both British and both low budget for inclusion on the UKH roll of honour. Both carry gay themes but I am not gay and don't have any agenda there.
Kinky Boots, fabulous performances and happy ending
Pride, Basically a true story and gritty
Now its up to you lot, its going to be a long winter, recommend some quality viewing for me to watch

How about Nuts in May? I bet they even had some change left over from the budget after filming finished.
Another 'classic' was Loved Up, from the mid 90's

Maybe Not really classics, but I always enjoy the "On The Busses" trilogy of films,& the Steptoe & Son films too. Also, most of the "Ealing Comedies" get my vote.
