Is it on MOD land? It looks like an observation tower to watch army manoevers. Its on the site of an old cordite factory,it had anti aircraft guns mounted on it. Holton Heath is the name of it,I believe it was the largest munitions site in the world between the wars, the original offices and some other buildings are now part of an industrial estate.

Tunnel ventilation shaft. I think its only fair to give you that. It was an ' fresh air' intake for a paper mill in the valley below.Supposedly where the paper for banknotes was produced . Its situated above the Whitebrook valley on the River Wye nr Monmouth . Paper was also produced for wallpaper and the pollution created in the process ment the valley was filled with smog most of the time. Whitebrook now is a sleepy hamlet with a few ruins from the past but was once a thriving industrial estate. In the woods on either side of the valley are ruins of the 'hovels' the workers lived in . Excavated enterance to tunnel by tower Well done Cris , bottle of cider is yours for collection Your turn , I 'm sure you will stretch us !

This is something I come across on a regular dog walk, but its always been surrounded by scrub so not easy to get a good pic. Its finally been opened up but I'm not sure if its particularly rare or are there others about....anyone know what it is? First correct answer gets a free pen!!! (conditions apply, pickup only in Dorset) I was going to say that it was Nicola Sturgeons start of a post-Brexit bridge to Europe from Peterhead before they ran out of Buckies but Pike might have been offended so I didn't say it...... It’s ok. Boris is building us a bridge to Ireland. Must be some sort of fair well present to the eu

Its about 40 ft tall Winner gets my pen if I was correct on last one and if I was wrong I have a bottle of 2020 vintage cider bottle ,still full at the moment , pick up from Gordano services . I reckon it was a well, but when Murphy's construction built it they had the plans upside down.....
