my mate has had his cancer treatment postponed because of this bug he not happy at all Someone I know has had their chemo stopped for the same reason. It's another scary side effect to this - how many people will die of other conditions because they didn't get the treatment they needed? Sorry for your friend, V, I hope they can get him some treatment again soon.

There must be an awful lot of people suffering extra with out even catching it . I think the only comfort to me is at least I don't live in America!

There must be an awful lot of people suffering extra with out even catching it . I think the only comfort to me is at least I don't live in America! I think that's the bit I didn't understand when it all first kicked off, Bungo, initially I thought, "well it's flu, we get flu every year, people die of that, cancer, heart attacks and everything else". I didn't understand (a) the enormity of it and how quickly large numbers of people could get infected and (b) that this would be on top of all the other things people get ill with and that they wouldn't get treatment either (or family at their bedside when they die or a decent funeral). That side of it didn't occur to me straight away. Have they suspended other treatments because of the risk of catching the infection in the hospital or because they've not got the space to do both? Either way it's a blooming terrible situation for so many at the moment. I was thinking to myself just now that when I was my son's age (18) I was having my world changed by rave culture, LSD and MDMA. His is being changed by this awful virus that means you're literally risking death if you pop out to get something in for tea. Just a mad situation. I really hope we all learn from this and change for the better instead of battling to get back to our old, clearly not helpful, ways of doing things.

Well I've just been to Tesco and the staff aren't following social distancing, sometimes because they can't because there just isn't enough room and sometimes because they just don't seem to be and if they're not doing it then there's no reason for the customers to, which seems to be the attitude of some. There's a stopping point to wipe and disinfect your trolley handle and clean your hands but no-one enforcing it so some people walked by. One couple having a row over what to by and pacing back and forth whilst shouting and pointing lol so no one way system going on there. It makes me feel nervous; if it's not being enforced (or enforceable) during a lockdown then how on earth will they manage it if people are allowed out again but have to practise social distancing? It's very difficult with even half a dozen people in a relatively small space. Anyway, home now, shopping unpacked, washed, clothes in machine and I'm going in the bath With my cheesecake Lol

I don't shop often but popped in the new Lidl today for few essentials. No one on the door restricting the numbers going in. A member of staff stood right next to me and started filling the shelf i was taking something off, however a shitty look and do you need a tape measure ? comment got shot of him. Then one till open and a queue half way up the shop. Back to Asda next time i need shopping i think.

My local Tesco is really strict and very much on the ball, I feel very comfortable with them but some of the customers are bell ends. Mostly foreigners who don't seem to understand rather than deliberately not complying.

A bit surprising really, but I tend to go last thing so don't seem many other customers in there.

I go late.9pm aldi is quiet.I park outside the big glass windows and wait till hardly anyone is in there then shoot round like a maniac, forget most things, antibac contacted surfaces inc card, get home ,wash ,change clothes, wash shopping and all associated, grab a shower then fall over knkrd.next day go through car with wipes. I also was shocked at Lidls lax behaviour.I wont go in again. It feels like they dont know what I do or arent bothered.I would pay for home delivery.I dont want to be near silly people but have no choice. Its awful.

I guess the same could be said of churches, synagogues, cinemas, theatres, restuarants, takeaways, football grounds, rugby stadiums, cricket and tennis complexes, gyms, swimming pools, beaches, horse racing meets, hotels, bed and breakfast, motorhome caravan and camp sites in fact anything that attracts people together in numbers.

On top of which outsiders could well be turned upon by close communities which is understandable due to what the 'unseen menace' can do. The sheep mentality will not be the same for many years or until a vaccine is found.

I'm not so sure about that, one if the biggest mosques in the country is only a couple of miles from here and they give every impression of being very rich. Certainly had no problem finding the money to build it in the first place. I think they operate like the church did in the middle ages, you have to pay if you want to go to heaven

The sheep mentality will not be the same for many years or until a vaccine is found. Thats already happening up here.People are actively hunting for people to report.Even though that person may be alone going to a lonely place quietly.Cars tyres are slashed on estates, because" they went out",slogans are daubed on homes if "suspected "people from away .women seen scavenging for food in bins in daylight were attacked online and a mob encouraged to slander them ,no one offered help. The exposes when reporting people were found to be mistaken were interesting.Police dont help much, they encourage reporting here. The worst seem to be sanctimonious curtain twitchers on benefits, who go to church for events and are scarey rabble rousers.
