I think that of the two vaccines being offered so far, I would consider the Oxford one to be a safer bet. The Pfizer one uses a new and untried technology, which may be quite okay, but this type of vaccine has never been used on a very large scale before, and no long-term observations have been made. yep i think the oxford is the favorite one plus its cheaper i think the pfizer one wont be used so much because of its need to be stored at such a low tempature . no doubt we will need another one next winter because of mutation we will still be wearing face next winter..

It all seems a lot Heath Robinson theyve removed a lot of equipment from Nightingales and dont have staff available for them and of 30k retired medical staff whove applied to return only 5k have been accepted due to red tape stupidity. It doesnt appear anyone in charge has much clue. Considering theyve run these disaster planning scenarios for years its not really acceptable tgat when theres an actual disaster it all goes tits up.

Probably an inappropriate thing to be thinking but, how much plastic waste/sharps will this all produce . Why can't needless injection system , perfect for large mass vaccine programs be used ? Its ment to be painless , and would be nicer for people with needle phobia (me) www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4675000/Am I missing something other than financiai cost ?

Ive always said a lot of Diabetics would be better controlled if there was a more simple way of checking blood sugar than jabbing fingers for blood and having to mess about with needles and syringes and vials of insulin, its a tiresome routine. Sophisticated solutions cost too much though, but it still costs a lot of money for blood test sticks, lancets, analysis devices and disposing and incinerating of sharps and medical waste from conventional injection systems.
I would have thought needle free injections would be a more efficient way of rolling out mass vaccinations more quickly.
