immunity or rather reduced infection conferred by the vaccine is only temporary, it only last a few months, the Moderna vaccine is only "up to" 3 months, Pfizer and the Oxford ones may be a bit longer, maybe 6 months, but its not permanent yet everybody is acting like once they have the vaccine its all over.

The antibodies formed after peeps have had the virus only last a short while unless there's been new evidence to the contrary but as the vaccines are new only time will tell how effective they are and if they work. Having a jab doesn't mean that you are immune to the virus just how bad that you get it and then like flu, is the vaccine capable of dealing with the emerging strains.

trouble is these vaccines are so new no long term studies have been done to see what the side effects might be, how they react with people on long term medication and such. remember Thalidimide? that was supposed to be a wonder drug too and the long term side effects were horrific, same or similar could happen here, dont say it will but the fact is nobody knows for sure. at the extreme any one having the vaccine could turn into some kind of zombie some years down the line, yes thats extreme and most here will laugh at the idea but again I say nobody knows for sure.

Thalidimide was not a vaccine , and you are more likely to get a reaction to the carrier of the vaccine . You spout tripe all day and I now find it highly amusing rather than getting wound up but I still think it would be a much better forum with out your continual negative contributions!

Theyre saying its not mandatory to have the vaccine but then the threat is to put you on a covert blacklist not just in your own country but shared with others. So it isnt voluntary is it,it comes with conditions, refuse and therell be consequences. Whats the next step...Blairs Vaccination passport? Of course linked yo your medical records and normal passport for 'ease of administration' Another attempt at ID cards by the back door. If 65% of the population are vaccinated its unlikely anyone unvaccinated and has covid is going to present much threat. Why should they be penalised? You could argue everyone who didnt stay in total isolation for a month should be penalised knowing full well if they ho out they could catch or spread the virus. The problem is that its far too late for all that, they already know all that stuff about you. When you apply for a visa to go to America you just go on line, give them your name address and your passport number. Pay your $14 and press the button. You don't have to fill out a long questionaire because they already know everything about you. They know if you have convictions, your employment status, credit rating and I suspect a lot more besides. After you press the button you will get a reply back by email within five minutes and its yes or no and there is no appeal. The Americans are not a soft touch. Convictions, bad credit, unemployed or whatever and you won't get a visa If there is any risk you just don't get in. But the scary thing is they already know everything , they are going to know whether you have been vaccinated. Its described as intelligence sharing but its really big brother. They are very good at what they do

THEY do...it depends on whether you regard it as big brother or in the interests of national security.

Yes theyre lucky, since the general attitude of Government here is that entertainers actors musicians artists etc should 'get a proper job' or 'retrain to another skill' and not worthy of help or support.

I think that of the two vaccines being offered so far, I would consider the Oxford one to be a safer bet. The Pfizer one uses a new and untried technology, which may be quite okay, but this type of vaccine has never been used on a very large scale before, and no long-term observations have been made.
