My sister was determined to buy me a very expensive tin whistle, I think I mentioned it before. I was equally determined for her not to do this as I can't play worth a damn and the most expensive whistle in the world won't change that.
I got one through the post today anyway, an intermediate grade on from Kerry Whistles and 'only' about £100. Well, it makes Christa happy and I have to say when I picked it up and started playing I'm still rubbish but it sounds surprisingly sweet and has a heaviness to it which is very satisfying in the hand.
It takes a lot more breath than my little cheapo one, is a lot louder, too, so I can't be practicing at this time of night. I like it enough that I might go up the dark road with the dogs, and sit and have a play around at the top where there is a bench for weary walkers.
There'll be nobody else around, and if there is anyone up to no good in the fields, it will give them a shock. 😁

What are we doing today, or rather tonight - having a goodly large slice of homemade rich fruit cake and a glass of mulled wine, to celebrate the passing of February, marking the fact that we are more than two thirds of the way through Winter...

What are we doing today, or rather tonight - having a goodly large slice of homemade rich fruit cake and a glass of mulled wine, to celebrate the passing of February, marking the fact that we are more than two thirds of the way through Winter... Sounds nice, Keith, lovely and sunny here, definitely starting to feel more spring like, blue sky and sunshine! You can't beat it  |

Horse wee, patchooli and old manness clear most human obstacles . 😂😂does goat pee count?😜was a lovely couple of days.band was great.uj sas genesis 50 yrs ago at de montfort ,they recorded it for an album.so I was with the right person to gauge the quality of performance..we kept most of the norms at bay.but was warned not to go into the centre by a lady outside the museum,very eager to let us know it's full of evil!but we did anyway.didn't see the "evil" but I'm sure it's there somewhere.but it wasn't in the little Peruvian cafe that we had lunch in.uj ordered a fish dish,the owner then sprinted out the door to the nearby market,to buy said fish.he was proud of the fact all meals were cooked fresh!the best mackerel ujs had for a long time..just trying to get the van up to an acceptable temp now,was 5°when we got in an hour ago!x |

i love the sprinting cafe dude , thats commitment , and how it should be .
Goat wee should be ok , but horse for the win , and they produce inspirational amounts too , so you can make evaperation a thing too for super potent . A good horse wee brew should make smelling salts look pretty damn feeble . It would be evil joke to bottle some and pass it round at a rave pretending it was poppers . .

Uj just reminded me, a couple of blokes about 10 mins after our order,must have ordered fish,as off he sprinted again,back in mins,with his little bag of fish😂
