My sister has gone to visit her daughter, and, as always, has left her animals at home. Hopefully her granddaughter will turn up to stay at hers tomorrow, but I'm stuck looking after them until then which puts the kybosh on me getting away.
However, I'm taking the opportunity to get stuff done of my own, and I'm going to try to get somebody to come stay with her next weekend so that I can get away.
Truthfully, she doesn't need care at the moment, but is constantly asking for lifts here there and everywhere. I feel unable to refuse knowing that her time is limited, she knows this and is taking full advantage. I haven't had any time to myself though since she got her diagnosis.
I'm not really whinging, even though it sounds that way, I have been the designated care giver in my family for a long while now, and don't actually mind. However, she has other family than me, and some of them will have to start to help out.

Sympathise with you Maggie. I have a similar situation with my uncle, late stage Parkinson's, unable to do anything for himself now & if it wasn't for me taking ma to see him & taking him out he'd be stuck in the home permanently. Nobody else even bothers to go see him never mind do owt for him. Don't mind cos I would hate to be in his position but it'd be nice if my sister took a turn now & again.... Got a break this week cos ma's away to Scotland for a week but boy's off college also so I'm still stuck at fuckin home!๐ก๐ก๐
