I agree with most of what he says but i still dont agree with their methods. Theyre targeting and affecting ordinary people. Its emgaging in bullying and passive intimidation and quite narcissistic.
Just 20 big corporations are responsible for the majority of the mess we are in.
Why arent they targeting the corporations? and why arent they using the media to put across the message in a contructive manner instead of annoying people who have normal life issues to deal with and not making themselves look like fringe nutters.
When i was following them from inception they were constantly banging on about climate and how if we dont act we'll be doomed,now theyre trying to morph the arguement into sonething else. Changing the system. Yes it needs changing or we are doomed but thats only going to achieved by changing individuals rampant consuming behaviour and self interest.
If you continually attack the people whose minds youre trying to influence and change youre not going to get very far but thats exactly what they seem intent on in XR.

One thing is for sure. Most people will go under next month if they stop, or are prevented from, working. Those are the people who are complaining. They literally don't have the time or interest in what will happen in ten or twenty years time.

There have already been subtle threats about charges for conspiracy to commit criminal damage which carry heavier imprisonment than public order offences.
The establishment dont care if you target civilians but when you inconvenience the Bank of England and other financial institutions youre in big trouble.
Rotten to the core this country is.

according to the news most of the major airports want to expand quite a lot yet the goverment say we are going to bring our footprint down i try a do my little bit recycling etc but i think putting stuff in the recycle bin all over Britain for one year the good it does gets wiped out in one week of pollution from China USA

Its recreational misbehaviour. I have been bombarded on facebook by ads inviting me to come along to the demo for a fun day out

I was in their facebook group at the start but left because it had no objective or direction and seemed to be mostly relatively well heeled moaners started by well heeled over privileged moaners. What other climate cause has celebs jetting in to support events while continuing to maintain their high consuming lifestyle and numerous cars homes private helicopters and jets etc.? The 'cause' seems to have morphed from climate change to ' not about climate change at all but social change' for the moment. (Ill post the link later when i find it) Update -as ppsted earlier HEREI see theyve been subtly advertising for people of poor and working class,black and minority backgrounds because theyre lacking a proper representative cross section of the populous....while seriously inconveniencing low income ordinary folks whose support they need. HEREAnd HERE Sorry its the mail but balance is good and the comment is relevant. The more i read of them the more suspicious i become of their motives and who 'they' actually are. I cant help feeling from the lack of objective and the organised disorganised chaos theyre just their creating distraction to other things and inadvertently or deliberately losing common support for climate change. |
