I actually doubt that the moon landings were "as presented" to us. I don't know what was real, I'm damn sure some of it was fake but one question that remains strangely unanswered.

WHY DID THEY NEVER GO BACK? There were six moon landings over 3 years... They achieved little at great expense... The amount of science done was minimal, apart from bringing a few hundred kilos of rock back.... Much much more has been achieved since we started sending robots instead of people... And at much lower cost. They were mostly just a big ego trip for the Americans in their battle for technological supremacy over the USSR.... |

Mythbusters did this - and concluded that REAL was true.
As a sometime photographer, the lighting mentioned in photographs - much of this point is explained by the lack of atmosphere and the surface albedo.

So, we left Earths gravitational field, travelled through the vacuum of space for hundreds of thousands of miles, shielded from the radiation from the Sun, landed on a moon where no life exists, and returned, surviving huge temperatures, landed in the ocean.
Now, for a real challenge, can we get a sterile bottle of water to a kid in Somalia ?
