😂 Same way you distill spirits ie whiskey in a still only i think using a still to separate petrol from diesel might prove a little more unpredictable (AKA dangerous).

If you have an old diesel van it will run on diesel fuel that is quite heavily contaminated with petrol, it will easily take 25% maybe more petrol. I once put a lot of petrol (and I do mean a lot) in one of my vehicles before I realised. Then I thought ***** what do I do so I phoned a mechanic mate who said fill it to the top with diesel and you should be alright. I tried it and it ran perfectly. No smoke, no misfiring in fact it ran better than normal if anything

No smoke, no misfiring in fact it ran better than normal if anything I once accidentally put 20 quids worth of petrol in my old merc truck. Once I realised I filled the rest up with diesel, which was about 40 quid or so back then. I then drove from Abergavenny to Okehampton without stopping. I reckon the top end was down by about 10 miles per hour but that was about the only thing I noticed. Funnily enough it always seemed to run better after that.

In the 'olden days' it was recommended to pit about 1L of petrol in a tank of diesel to prevent waxing.

So long as you dont put too much petrol in it wont hurt the engine.Too much petrol you get premature detonation of the fuel and thats not good. Its putting diesel in petrol motors thats a no no. Petrol is good for cleaning injectors and can gives the hengine a bit more go. I use cetane booster and cleaner in mine though.

I've accidentally put diesel in a carbed petrol engine before. It smoked a lot but had no lasting effects. It didn't have a catalytic converter though.
