I've been looking at Flat Earth and Flat Earth disprovers on youtube. I just can't see how anybody in this day and age can believe the Earth is flat!! What are they smoking?? Some of the clips are quite entertaining though. For the wrong reasons. Discuss!

No different to voting to UKIP or Tory in the belief they look after the poor and disabled.
Everyone is equipped with a brain but not everyone reads the user manual.

There are some people who like to take the opposite view on any subject and they do it automatically. Its a personality trait. I've been out in my van this morning listening to a phone in on the radio.
Some guy phones in about the Novochoc poisonings saying there is no way it was Russia. The whole story never happened, its a put up job by the British Govt etc. No doubt that's what he truly believes.

I can't believe that was 2011. Were you a big fan of Alistrair Cooke's Letter From America?

A heck of a lot of people in America believe in creation rather than evolution, ie the very literal version of Genesis in the Bible. God created the world in seven days in 4004BC. In some parts of America, mostly in the south, its illegal for schools to teach about evolution.
The are called Creationists and there are a lot of them.

I remember on an edition of Letter From America he quoted some else, " If you visit America, fly to the east coast and then fly straight over to the west coast, for in between is a land full of bigots." I must say on hipforums the most interesting Americans there were from the coastal states. Maybe they eat more fish.
