i have posted before that MR hunt will not care what hardship his cuts will do , also many many people are going to struggle through this time of pain but a few are going to make a lot of money out of it, people who have the least and go to money lenders or use credit to buy items have to pay the highest rate why are we in this mess

It seems Boris has pulled out, probably unable to get his 100 MP votes. Best news this evening, something to celebrate! I might even have a small Port...

I think Sunak will give the job to Javid.Hunt has just been put there to calm the city.

I'd be surprised if he took Hunt out straight away. More likely leave him in to keep things calm for now, then replace him in the next big reshuffle after this one. When reasons for getting rid of him are apparent, or can be manufactured to suit the government of the day, like painting a more liberal Tory image as the next election staggers over the horizon.

Sunak has two years max to make an impact with the electorate,he wont do it with a charisma vacuum like Hunt.
Hunt has set himself up as the Dr Beeching of public expenditure cuts and everyone learned to hate Beeching and the cuts achieved nothing, just compounded problems. You can sack people and pay them to be unproductive on the dole or you can pay them in a job and that money goes back into the economy as mortgage payments, rents, finance, purchases, tax etc
The Tories already did the big cutting public expenditure experiment twice under Thatcher and Camoron and both were a complete failure for society and the economy. Thatchers was worst because she squandered our oil revenue to achieve it.What do we have to show for it..nothing.

Then OPEC decided to twist the knife by reducing supply Most of our neighbours in Europe are in exactly the same position but not so visibly. You can't stretch money, food, or fuel. Nobody can not Truss, not Boris, not Sunak or Starmer Neither can France or Germany. Its not about Politics it's about numbers. This winter is going to highlight all our weaknesses

Cobbled ford of Roman Construction found near Evesham A cobbled ford uncovered near Evesham could be the finest Roman example of its type in Britain A cobbled ford believed to be of Roman construction has been discovered near Evesham in Worcestershire, England. If the path is confirmed to be Roman, it will be the only of its kind in Britain. To protect the site, the exact location of the discovery is being kept under wraps. But a Roman-era villa complex across the river from the ford was discovered four years ago. The precision stonework is also reminiscent of Roman road-building abilities. The 10m-stretch (32.8 feet), believed to extend to a depth of 3m (9.8 feet), was discovered during routine waterworks. Ruts in the stones indicate it was used by carts for a long time. arkeonews.net/a-cobbled-ford...pe-in-britain/

He's following the Johnson playbook. Showing no initiative. How to be a pointless Prime Minister. But the Hedge funds love him so thats ok.

I think he's doing the right thing by not going to something that will be largely a waste of time for Britain because we are already 100% committed. He is sending the climate minister instead while he gets on with the job he is paid to do. Very refreshing

If you want to be a world leader in anything you got to be on the stage, that's the end if it. Hes got enough of a team to sort out domestic issue's, which wont be sorted overnight anyway, theyve created a big enough mess to take years to sort out already.Hes just projecting the standard right wing image that the environment isnt important and just stands in the way of business interests and that they dont give AF about the younger generation.
