This is something that comes up regularly. I think it is started by cat shelters so that people will get cross and go and adopt a black cat to prove they are not like everyone else.
They are no more difficult to rehome than any other cat, in fact a lot of people prefer them even without the faux outrage which such headlines are designed to provoke.

I'm not sure I believe the whole selfie thing, but it's a fact that black cats are harder to re-home. A few years ago my parents adopted a long haired black cat and she's awesome! On all my photos of her, she looks like a black hole with eyes  |
