Had an email (genuine) from paypal statimg that theyre changing their policy on browsers from June 30 and only those that meet their security requirements will be permitted for account access.
Chrome Firefox or Safari are required non of which I will use.
If you use your account a lot then you should check if your browser is compatible via their test sandbox.
May save you hassle after June 30.

On the subject of cashless payments, cards have taken over from cash for payments for the first time. I know the cashless society is coming, but I was hoping it wouldn't be in my lifetime!

The Hungarian guys I work with use post office Travel money cards. You can load them up with £ or about twenty other currencies. They charge about 1-2% to load British £££ onto to the card but its a secure way of keeping the money. Don't know if the cards will work for paypal etc but its worth a go. If you need an address to set the card up you can use my address (this offer is for VW only at the moment till we find out more)

If you want to draw out any amount of cash from not too a high level from a bank here in france now,you have to order it in advance. one client who wanted to pay x amount in cash and transfer x amount into my account had to wait two days to get his hands on a grand !!! Cash is definately phasing out !!

I use paypal for nearly all my online transactions. Don't fully trust them as cash in hand is best but reluctantly I'll have to kowtow to any changes unless my fckem head takes over and they then lose another sucker. Twunts.

I use a Pockit prepay Visa card online, or my personal bank card with paypal. The Pockit visa card is 99p for most things, though loading from a bank is free. My problem is the browser thing. I tried to download Firefox, it said it had downloaded. I just can't find it. No icon, nothing. No idea where it downloaded to. I like this phone, and don't want a new one!

Cash is definately phasing out !! And yet I walked into my French bank a few months ago and took out 2000 Euro there and then. They did say they don’t always allow that sort of amount depending on how much is in the cash machine at the time. The banks round here no longer hold cash that isn’t in the cash machine. your client was probably unlucky the funds in the machine were low, rather than the there being specific rules to stop large cash withdrawals. As for PayPal, I no longer accept it, too many scammers and they always come down on the side of the buyer.
