Hopefully not too much, they have to be in dual control cars and with a qualified instructor. The only thing that bothers me is people hearing 'learner drivers can go on the motorway' and then going there with thier mum or dad.

Personally i think its a change for the better. If you drive down the 180 here there are plenty of people who dont have a fucking clue how to join a motorway, teaching them can only be for the better.
Id assume that theyd only hit the motorway after a few lessons when they can drive so shouldnt be any more of an issue than all the LHD hgv's that dont bother looking before they change lanes and / or join the carriageway.

Personally i think it should be a two stage test pass on regular driving then do the motorway stuff like you have to do a separate large trailer test. The general standard of driving is abysmal as it is,how this is supposed to make things better or safer i dont know. I certainly dont feel the scenario youve mentioned of ma or pa (not qualified instructors)in the car with son/daughter is a good idea at all.
