On this day in 1876, George Armstrong Custer and 267 men of the U.S. Army's 7th Cavalry were wiped out at Little Bighorn. It did not end well in the long run though.

Pity no one ever remembers the millions of native Americans wiped out in the genocide instigated by the new European pioneer Americans.
Excuse me for not remembering Custer and his men with reverence.

Don't think anyone remembers Custer with reverence.

What I learned today was, to carry post it notes with "uk hippy proboards" and a smiley on it to leave on the windscreen of the lovely traveller i saw today travelling through north wales at Sainsburys car park if I see him again or any other lovely smiler in a van.Great van.Seemed like a shortened ambulance shape van with an orange light on top and a stove pipe peeking out.Nice high driving position, not too many windows looked robust and snug. The guy noticed my scrutiny and looked worried till i smiled, prob thought me an anti.Got a lovely smile back.I wondered after how hard it is to turn up in an area and find a good place to stop over.I could of told him lots of people and places. Is it actually really harder and more risky to say hi to a stranger nowadays or is it aged wariness?Wouldnt it be great if people glowed the colour they are in soul.Lovey pink etc

It was suggested some time ago elsewhere that we nomad hippy whatevers have a simple windscreen sticker by which to discretely recognise each other and so not feel awkward about saying hi to strangers/fellow wanderists...but it never got beyond a suggestion and perpetual discussion.

I imagine lots of people remember them, but as usual it gets brushed under the carpet cos it gets in the way of "the big plan"....

I have gone beyond now .Yesterday i may have met a new nice person and he may have also and got a good park up as well as meeting a nice person.I have post it notes in my dash now with uk hippy proboards written on them, so next time ill do a note under wiper. Not personal or intrusive and they can find us here. Now I need to find a way of getting decent commission from vanwoman. A windscreen sticker will be a target to some.I had a sticker a few years ago about animal cruelty and got a tyre slashed overnight.

The simple more 'organised' web address is www.ukhippies.co.uk and the email is ukhippies@gmail.com if you want to ad that cricket. Thanks, and I am happy to offer a 2% of my profit from the forum by way of a commission I'll pay you as soon as I make a profit

Still, a supplement to my pension would be appreciated if I make it that far and havent been zapped by an axe wielding madman masquerading as a peace love hippy that I befriended innocently in a car park.

I made a specific point that i was NOT thinking of you Harry. If your ego is so large what can I ever never say?Crone?Wow,I have been called many things...voluptuous,stunning,nubile,generous,bendy...but now you have called me a crone you will never find out.I would never insult anyone that HAD NOT INSULTED ME.However you have.I will look for a suitable word to call you, if I get time. Referring to me as mistress will have to remain a distant fantasy.
