How's everybody doing with the petrol and diesel shortages? We've gone back to nearly 100% SVO. I took one look at the ques at the pumps and thought no thanks. 40L for £38, it's cheaper than diesel anyway!
How about you?

Not bothered, really. Just do Aldi with the rucksack in two trips walking, instead of one in the car.

Never even knew there was one till pulled up at the pumps in our area and went to pay and mentioned don't normally see six motors at the pumps at this time of morning on a Saturday (08.00) and was told there was panic buying going on. I didn't know as don't hear about such things in my cave with no tv and not being on radio or internet for a week missed all the hullabaloo about it. Still this part of Ceredigion don't really have a dense population but I did notice it a bit more in filling stations as I headed for Tenby.

Riled.
Was fortunate to have pumped from near empty to just over half a tank on Thursday which has become my normal and regular behaviour over the last couple of months. (I will be getting rid of this vehicle so didn't want to lose £50 in the tank).
I do 250 - 270 miles on a regular week.
Having a 500 mile round trip planned for Sunday and with 5 out of 6 fuel stations in my area closed I cancelled work on Tuesday to keep fuel in my tank.
I've queued up 3 times: 1st time asda presented a maximum £30 purchase and one queue jumper; 2nd time 2 queue jumpers and forecourt closed whilst I was queuing; 3rd time no queue jumpers, partly due to forecourt staff, usual fuel limit but I didn't have the balls to fill my can for the diesel heater.
Total queueing time has been about an hour. Searching for fuel outside of my usual routes probably another 30 mins. Inconvenience of going out for fuel during abnormal hours is priceless imo but I'd estimate 4-8 hours of inconvenience in total if it matters.
What's svo?
I expressed a couple of litres of diesel into my 5 litre can at asda (seemed minimally greedy given £30 purchase limit) and am planning to mix it with £2.00 per litre b and q paraffin to fuel diesel heater.... Hopefully this'll do me till Sundays visit to nw England where I hear diesel is relatively available.

SVO is Straight Veg Oil. I take that as new, clean veg oil but it can be filtered used veg oil. It's just not processed into diesel.
