Hello, I am a new member from London who has just found the forum browsing on Google. The forum looks great, I am happy to have found it. I hope I do not cause any problems here. I signed up to hopefully read about Hippy culture and subjects. The forum looks like it has a lot of it. I am also largely into the music side of Hippy culture. I am a big Psychedelic / Garage Rock fan. I hope I can find more bands through this website. Have a good day and good luck. All the best.

Wishing you a warm welcome Morph, you may come across the odd hippy on here, not the normal hippy but definately a few odd ones :-)
Being born at the start of the sevenbties I love loads of the old psychadelic rock groups of yesteryear but am enjoying quite a bit of chilled postrock at the mo whilst I am working. Electric octopus, Stone rebel and octopus Diver are a few I am enjoying this week.
Would be good if you could let us know what sort of bands float your boat as we are all looking for new and groovy tunes as well as sometimes needing to be reminded of what we once listened to :-)
There is a music section so good place for you to create a thread or two maybe.
Love and light

Love and light fly xxxx Hello, thankyou for your welcome. Much appreciated. I haven't listened to much Post Rock to be honest. But for old Garage / Psychedelia I'd have to say for my current listening: Art - Supernatural Fairy Tales & Liquid Smoke. Two of my favorite albums at the moment. I'm also a big fan of: Blue Cheer, 13th Floor Elevator's, The Blue Magoos, The Chocolate Watchband, The Electric Prunes, Liquid Visions, The Outer Limits & The Grodes. I also like a lot more than that but I'd say their my favorites at the moment. Thanks again for the welcome, have a good day.

... I also like a lot more than that but I'd say their my favorites at the moment. ... There are two subjects that will immediately catch my attention and music is one of them. Some interesting choices in your list there. Blue Cheer once claimed to be the loudest band in the world I seem to remember. My personal experience was that Pink Fairies had them beaten on that score, but that was an indoor gig. Art is a great choice for a favourite band. I don't think I ever got to see them though I do remember most of the bands I saw in the sixties and seventies. James Lowe of The Electric Prunes was still active until relatively recently, which reminds me I haven't heard about him for a while, so I hope he's okay. Off the top of my head I can only remember The Blues Magoos' great version of Tobacco Road, so I shall go back and remind myself. What a time to rediscover - so many bands. Oh, and welcome.
