I was listening to Vivaldi’s Four Seasons while sitting in my bus today. Am thinking how blessed I am as when he wrote and played, only the very rich and powerful would have heard him. Good times knowing that I can listen to such sublime music any time I desire. 😎

Don't know why but it's so powerful.

I've got 7gb of 60s/70s folk/stoner/ acid/blues and maybe the same of 16th to 19th century + 20gb of 20th. Baroque to pop, it's just my mood or if the black dog is in residence it's that which decides but Youtube despite being a scavenger of data is such a blessing by opening endless doors to listen to soooooooooooooo many great sounds.

Couldnt agree with you more. I have got nearly half a tb of music on both of my computers and backed up on two external hard drives. Thered is so much amazing stuff out there to fit any mood that we may be in. To be honest albeit I have got one of the biggest collections of music out of anyone I know or have talked with,I still have hardly scratched the surface.
If you fancy trying something a little bit diiferent try giving classical and traditional iranian music a try with armand amar, hossein aliz adeh or some of the work of the musicians Kayhan Kalhor & Ali Bahrami Fard.
I have a great collection of the european classical works and am just starting to discover classical from other parts of the world.
I will say though from our side of the world I have a preference towards russian classical music and have tripped out literally to tchaikovski's work a good few times. very powerful stuff :-)

I love Middle Eastern music so will certainly have a listen to the artists you recommend . Also, Russian music does it for me, having been brought up on it, plus most Mediterranean stuff 😊

Popped into the local garage that I use often in Aveyron this morning to turn a tyre around as it is slowly wearing down on the outside,so I wanted to hide the just legal side of the tyre on the inside !! Also got the mechanic to check the prop shaft that all was well since changing the universal bearings and check for play in any of the wheels just in case I have to drop down to the cote d azur again this winter which is quite a trip over a couple of decent mountain ranges. I prefer to find any possible faults in advance as it could be an awkward part of the country to break down in with some garages asking near to one hundred euros per hour (90 quid). Anyhow all checked and tyre turned around and he only wanted 10 euros for it bless him. as per usual I gave him a little more (15) which would still be a bargain as a lot of garages will now charge 20 to 25 TO remove a tyre !!
I think that he likes me as we always have a good chat and I give him the upcoming dates of any french rugby games as he is an oval minded person too :-) There is a lot of camaraderie between rugby supporters (like bikers) as we all like the aspects of fairplay, honour and integrity as well as the game. So yeah, bargain mechanical checkover and tyre change. Like vw ( vanwoman not volkswagen ),we all like a good bargain :-)

I have got all of her stuff including everything she did with her group Niyaz and coincidently she is married to the first composer that I mentioned armand amar and sings on a few of his compositions too. It was his music that turned me on into the iranian scene xx

Also, Russian music does it for me, having been brought up on it, plus most Mediterranean stuff 😊 Of course, you have family ties with the ukraine so no doubt that it is in your blood. The middle eastern music is more spiritual especially with the duduk as fennisrulf mentioned as well as other instruments like the turkish based oud and the beautiful hammered dulcimer which I can listen to on its own for hours. A lot of the russian music is much more uplifting in an energetic sort of way and is very passionate and motivating. I love both equally xx

The oud is something I have to force myself not to look for. I would add it to my random collection of musical instruments in a heartbeat, but would not be able to do it justice . Gorgeous.
Hammered dulcimer, again a glorious instrument ❤️

The oud is something I have to force myself not to look for. I would add it to my random collection of musical instruments in a heartbeat, but would not be able to do it justice . Gorgeous. Hammered dulcimer, again a glorious instrument ❤️ I will give you a couple of names worth checking out on both instruments and would imagine that you will find them on you tube, well certainly the first though the second is maybe less known. Please excuse me if you know them already !
Rabih abou khalil is a magnificant player of the oud from lebanon and has released many albums with each one very different by inviting musicians of many different instruments and cultures to play on his album collection! There is a mix of arabic rooted music with world music, jazz and all sorts. I have all of his albums (I think) and always had a preference for the album the sultans picnic, albeit they are all worth listening to.
The hammered dulcimer was educated upon me by a french guy busking at a see shanty festival in Brittany. I had had enough of all the excitements for a while and decided to wonder down the quay to find a bit of tranquility and I came across this chap playing beautifully with two hammers in each hand and was blown away by the beauty of the music and also by the instrument which co-ordinated both percussion and string together,it was one of those special moments. His name was Eric Michelet ( I remember as I had to buy his album ) and he may be available to find on youtube. I will have a look myself this evening.
If you do not know either of these artists then an event that puts a smile on my face today would be sharing them with you.
There are a few artists that have that extra something and both of these guys are worth knowing if you are interested in that little something a bit different from the norm. xxxx
