Today I spent typing in bar codes to two web sites, music magpie and ziffit. None of ther barcode readers work very well, they managed to read 4 CDs between them. So for 4 hours or so work my cd collection is worth less of tHan £25. Theres a few will sell on eBay as there box sets or singles collections but the rest aren't worth much and more hassle than there worth. so I've now got a couple of hundred cd's to do something with, any suggestions?

They make good bird scarers but thats not very vegan is it.
Unless theyre rare editions or box sets theyre hard to sell. Stick list of em on gumtree or preloved cost you nothing to advertise...quid each + post or whatever you want.

Part of me is thinking I could lay them on the floor, picture side up and pour resin over them, other than the hat I'm stumped on what to use them for

I was thinking like a penny floor, do the whole floor in cd's on the next truck build. Not sure if the floor would flex causing it to crack. I'm also not sure how I would hide the magnets I need in the floor if it's clear resin. One way or another it would get rid of my CDs. If it cracked and went to shit I could just chip it out and cover over the floor with something else, like marble.

You gotta laugh at modern technology doncha. Here we are trying to decide what to do with old cd s that are virtually worth fuck all, and at the same time new releases are selling for 40 quid a time on good old vinyl. Long Live The Old Ways! 🐯

While I was looking on eBay to see what some of my CDs were worth I also looked at the price of vinyl, think iI s time I sold on my slipknot vinyl. There going for £150 per album, I've got the first five and all the 7" picture disc singles. Don't think I've ever played them.

Saw a guy on tv build a caravan out of a trailer tent and he used CDs to cover a wall. Looked like fishscales and was very effective. On a sadder note I can remember a pic of a floor done in vinyl LPs, again effective but unless they were Des O'Conner or his ilk, a loss to future peeps.

Have you tried CEX Pyke? They pay cash over the counter, though sometimes not much. You don't have to take it, but if you want to get rid it's an option.

Sadly I got rid of my vinyl long before it came back to having some value, there was nothing special in there anyway, but I could have gotten 10 times more nowadays. I never expected it to become collectible again.
All the good stuff went at a boot sale, the 40 os so junk stuff I sold to a guy for something like 2 Euro to get it gone, he was quite surprised, I just didn’t want to put it back in the workshop.
The CDs and DVDs luckily sold just before the used price collapsed in 2006, , it paid for a month holiday in Thailand.
Sadly other than ebay I have no idea how to sell CDs now, been 100% digital for a decade.

He CDs aren't worth tHe hassle of trying to sell, there's a couple of box sets that might be worth a few quid but that's about it. For the money I got offered I would ra Her keep them and find a use for them. I kinda like the idea of making a floor out of them. I will have a look thru my records and see if there's anything that's going to go for silly money, like the slipknot ones. I probably paid 20 each for them and there listed at 150 now. I'm in no hurry to sell the records I could just be doing with the cash. I can't mind the last time I had money in my pocket never mind the last time I got a wage. I'm still down with my family so it's not costing me anything to live and will be here till the middle of next week. I then need to get a job quick or come up with a bit of cash to see me thru til I get a job. So if selling a few records tides me over then you hats fine
