I believe there's more than one strain, some stronger than others. That would explain why some people have little better than flu, others die of it, of all ages. I hope I get the weak strain.... Reading a lot of the medical info coming out it seems the primary cause of death is pulmonary thrombo embolism - the virus is destroying the tiny blood vessels in the lungs and clots are forming in them blocking them off and making it impossible for the usual oxygen carbon dioxide exchange to occur. Hence why if youve got underlying medical conditions especially respiratory or cardiac issues your chances are severely reduced. Some are in ICU a long time and die from sepsis and multiple organ failure. It really is pot luck if you get it and recover or go downhill. |

Got a phone call from my surgery this morning. Surprise surprise the gov have moved the goalposts on whom they deem to be clinically vulnerable. MY new part-time GP who I have never ever met has been tasked with assessing me via my notes against the new guidelines. The fact that my surgery have me listed from before this shitstorm as such makes no difference nor that I've been told to shield. Tossers.
