i think the mortality rate of infected people is around 1% to 2% so around 1 to 2000 fatalities in every 100,000 infected.
1666 deaths out of 69,000 infections confirms this fatality rate.
IF in the highly unlikely event every single person in the UK became infected that might potentially equal 600,000 fatalities but its highly unlikely everyone would be affected and quaranting people would substantially reduce the infection rate.
It depends on how well the Government responds.If its as bad as the Chinese managed it initially it could be as high as the figures mentioned by Neil Ferguson.

The Chinese are lying bstards of the first order and their honesty is one thing which is constantly arising in many write-ups on this virus but at the same time the world is kissing their asses and saying what a good job they are doing in the vain hope that they can control it.
I've seen videos of folks allegedly being put down in the street which to me is pure anti chinese propoganda and bollux but everything else IMHO points to things being up to 10X worse that what official figures say.
This may be like flu and nothing more but it's virulence and the way medics in suits n boots are being seen to treat it along with chinese medics infection / death rates (most likely way higher) to me it's something shitnasty and not enough is being done openly to give reassurrance or hope.
Vaccines at least 10mths away IF they can make one.

Has any scientist in this country actually verified what the virus actually is with their own studies?Posibly many who get this will just think its flu as the symptoms seem similar.How can we tell the difference?

sorry that should read 400.000 The point is nobody knows and nobody can predict. With things like this we are largely powerless to exert any control beyond isolation. Go and live on an island and wait for the vaccine is about all you can do. |

The WHO have verified it as a SARS Coronavirus,this one has been,named COVID-19. The last Coronavirus in China in 2003 affected 8000+ and killed 774 globally with 9+% fatality rate. Symptoms are similar to Flu the difference being a temperature of above 38c and severe breathing impairment. SARS is Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome,the virus breeds in the lungs and causes rapid onset pneumonia which is what kills people. Pneumonia and difficulty breathing is a fairly rare complication of normal flu.Whereas a SARS virus primary complication is attacking respiratory function. Its deadly because its spread via droplets of vapor in breath and from coughing and sneezing which can be inhaled or ingested by others. |

156 cases total 52new cases in South Korea 1 dead.

There seems to be less tv coverage and news about it now and more about the cruise ship where all those people were stuck on it and now finally they coming off .. and just reports about how it is supposed to be now easing off and not many people catching Coronovirus etc BUT ... I have heard through the USA whispers that the USA is hiding many cases of Coronovirus and Not Admitting The Confirmed Cases In USA and almost a media blackout about it  . Also heard cases in the Middle East ! But like most things it’s hard to find and get to the truth as Goverments Etc Just Hide so much of the truth from the people . So in truth I just simply don’t really believe half of what we hear or see about it covered by the Press And TV .. as I Still think we are NOT being told the Truth .. just like o do not believe that it is going away and less cases and less infected spread areas etc .. |

Ironically its the Chinese news CGTN and Russian news networks that are talking all day about the virus and where its breaking out. There appears to be a near blackout on western media.
One of my friends who has been sharing official news network news on Coronavirus reports has been banned from Facebook for 30 days and from twitter completely.
