Phoned my doctors this morning wanting a script and found that I was No. 31 in the queue. Eventually got through, got a call back so I didn't have to attend and asked what was wrong this morning with such a huge queue. Got told, "It's only people panicking"............. FFS

Bats in China carry a few Coronavirus,they were believed responsible for the 2002-2004 SARS outbreak.
Pangolin a type of armadillo heavily traded in Chinese society are believed to be the transfer medium between bats themselves and humans but that is still being investigated.
When the outbreak began 33 different wildlife species were found to be carrying the virus including birds so its not clearcut as to how its spread,only that its crossed the species barrier.
The Chinese have at least banned the trade in wild animals.
Coronavirus naturally exist in the wild,this one mutated and affects us. It doesnt really matter where it came from,only matters how it spreads and how we deal with it.
If its spread by migratory birds as H5N1 Avian flu is- as well as person to person- we will potentially have this around for years.

i,d happily bet that more people died yesterday afternoon worldwide from car accidents than the total of corona fatalities and is the car banned ?
but barely reported that there is likely to be an oil war, now that will affect us all

Hardly barely reported,its the lead article on the main 'real' newspapers Times Telegraph FT,the other comics are preoccupied with Megan and Harry and Italy.
I expect a few hundred thousand people have died globally of cancer,strokes and heart disease over the weekend too.
It seems to be taking out people over 65 like a turkey shoot. Id guess if it wasnt being actively contained it would be taking out a whole lot more oldies.
But oh yes car accidents.

The UK government had a chance to close all borders and flights in the begining,we are an island it was possible.Now the government is quietly allowing the public to see steady escalation and risk of what was always going to be a Pandemic.I do not believe any government took any serious measures because those persons most affected are those who place the highest burden on any nation re health and maintenance needs and the money machine still needed feeding.The rich can afford rural seclusion and stockrooms full.The poor and weak were disadvantaged before this started.Shanty towns infected in India have simply been cordoned off and left to it.Whilst a virus doesnt discriminate with wealth,the rich will be able to get better care.
