If I was closer I'd sort your wood out. Really miss not having a log fire at home, sawing logs was one of my favourite pastimes. Never saw it as a chore, more another way to keep warm/active. Looking forward to fitting the log burner in my bus now so I can fire the chainsaw up again... Once i am actually sawing it its very satisfying.Its just the transition from a warm burrow to a cold wind I find difficult.Cant use a chain,never found a lightweight chain that doesnt deafen me or vibrate my wrists to bits,so its a bow saw. |

i get my dry seasoned wood all cut and split, as had enough of foraging damp wood in the rain, which did not burn well or give out a lot of heat,plus the costs of fuel to fetch and chain saw and buying the saw new chains etc and storage is at a premium in my truck, so made two lockers each hold quarter of a ton also i am not safe with sharp mechanical things, saws angle grinders etc. have scars to prove

All well with the retina bit,but cateract forming,which was told it would,so ball rolling now for cateract surgery early next year

Good afternoon all, sipping an iced coffee and a hot mokacino. Lunching on leftovers with orange juice. Doing aroma therapy and music therapy till dinner and dozing off tonight.

My sister's dog is very aggressive. He wasn't always, she and a woman she paid to walk him turned him like this.
I'm retraining him, trying to get him back to the sweetheart he used to be, and he is coming on very well. I walk him with my two, as they are so steady, and he is friends with them. This morning I managed to walk him past another dog who appeared unexpectedly. I have Axel on two leads when I spy another dog, and usually I walk off the track and stand between him and the other dog so that he does not see it, though he knows it is there. I expect him to sit until it is safely away, he has been known to try and slip collar, lead and harness to get at another dog, but I'm wise to him and he's never managed.
This morning I just had time to get the second lead on him as the other dog appeared from a hedge, and although he was interested and prepared to be aggressive, he actually listened to me and walked fairly well. It is early days, but I'm proud of how he is coming on. He's fabulous with humans, just other dogs and livestock he is currently untrustworthy.
