My sister goes to all the old person activities in the village. This afternoon it was my job to take her up to the old person Christmas lunch.
This is farming country, and people live in a very old fashioned way, which is actually quite lovely.
However, it does mean that they have not even heard of a plant based diet, and everything was either meat or dairy based. As I have no intention of trying to upset my neighbours who have not even heard the term, "vegan", I just loaded my plate with vegetables, told them my stomach was sensitive, it was fine.
What is less fine is that the local paper had a photographer there who made a beeline for me and Joobles - she always attracts blokes, and I reckon he was happy to see somebody under the age of 187. Not only did he take our photo, but took our names. Julia helpfully spelled mine while I was trying to think of an alias! 😂
I really hope I don't find my mugshot in the paper, I cannot tell you how much I don't like the thought of this, though Julia is all excited.

Hopefully the last check up at the eye hosp,its so far for just a 10min hosp...gonna be a fun day,ujsstomach doing its own thing and me with a good dollop of pre exmas no money ,missing family blues,...now wheres that hermit thread xx

Steeling myself to go get wood in.Its very cold,grey and windy out there today.Sometimes it would be nice to be rich and pay someone else to do that....and the shopping...housework...maintenance...

If I was closer I'd sort your wood out. Really miss not having a log fire at home, sawing logs was one of my favourite pastimes. Never saw it as a chore, more another way to keep warm/active. Looking forward to fitting the log burner in my bus now so I can fire the chainsaw up again...
