Rosie's a puller , got one of them nose lead things but haven't used it. Hope she gets the hang of not pulling, soon. Naughty girl has chewed up 2 leads and has now chewed up the handle of the one in current use.

The head halti harness are good for stopping pulling bc youve control of the head. Make sureits attached to her collar as well. After about 2 yrs old i rarely had to put my dogs on leash theyd walk alongside unless i let them go for a run.
My last one I had 2 solid years of insane chewing and destruction of leads, bedding, crates, my doors and door frames, door seals, shoes ,clothes, but never destroyed her toys...it drove me nuts then it suddenly just stopped. Some dogs and owners benefit from going to puppy or dog training sessions. It takes a lot of patience with some dogs.A clicker for getting attention and a bag of dog treats for rewarding positive behaviour helps.

Today I am going to crumple up tinfoil and make collars for all of my bean plants to try and deter slugs. I have them in pots, have copper tape aroind a couple of the pots, intend to put copper grease around the tops of other pots (I've run out of tape) and I am now on with tinfoil.
Last year the molluscs ate every part of everything I planted so I'm upping my defensive strategy.

It's a constant battle maggy.I've got beer traps, and copper tape.I've kept my cabbages and courgettes covered in net curtain until yesterday,no idea how they all fitted, when I removed it there's soooo much courgette leaf, hopefully they 're strong enough to survive now.beer traps in the bean bed, still finding the little buggers!but dosnt seem as bad here,in a field as some in built up areas seem to be getting...ps,egg shells and sheep fleece are suppose to work tooπ€

still arguing with the "UTILITIES" ...... bit of a contradiction of terms: Lol I don't know what fubar is either, what does it mean? Am I too old to know lol xx Thanks GIST ... for your LOL haha ........ Nomadic has given a very good explanation ... it is an older style acronym, like SNAFU (Situation Normal All Fucked Up) ... gives my age away too I reckon .... still works though - it'll do for me.

I know we should love everything .... but they take the piss ... they must be really pretty stupid, to eat tender little plants til they're dead ..... mindst you - no worse than humans probably ............ what a flippin malarkey. It's like the spiders n flies thing .... I'm not keen on either ... I collar the spiders in a jamjar and chuck em outside - and the flies - well I close internal doors in on them and encourage towards to last window - and waft/bat em outside - sending them a warning telepathically, that if they don't leave they're going to get swatted ... often works quite well, they seem to get the message haha

Never seen or heard any here, they must be about.just starting a pond,so next spring hoping we have frogs or toads to help! I dug a pond on the allotment to try attract some amphibians ... but no sign of any - someone was telling me it's now illegal to collect frogspawn and start a colony ... ffs Mindst you, the pond in question has no running water supply - so it's a bit static ... am in the process of trying to learn how to keep water clear and fresh in a closed water system ... tricky - wouldn't like to poison and frogs n toads with stagnant water. SO MUCH TO LEARN

SO MUCH TO LEARN Our pond started after I collected some free pots and a bistro set from the village, off the free page.I made the mistake of saying is there anything else?and came back with a kids pink plastic, moulded clam paddling pool.uj got all excited and bought a solar pond pump.so guess plants and frogs are next!πno probs with that.our old farmers still have a pond where we used to wild park.always teaming with frogs.a tree fell on the little sluce gate one day,the water level dropped.and the frog spawn was exposed and drying out.so there's me knee deep in muddy pond water, scraping up all the spawn and getting it back in the water.miss that park upπ

Well the tinfoil collars on my beans seem to be working, there is no further damage so far, though it has only been one night so far.
Long may this continue ππ
