Lots going on. Ma's back in Africa because here mum died unexpectedly. I bought a tractor and today I am stuck in front of the fire recovering from a cyclic vomiting attack bought on by to much stress and exitement at the same time . The tractors a Fordson Dexta circa 1962/3 but unregistered , which will need to be done or by a trailer if there arsy about it . Topper works fine but I cant seem to make the loader go up and down , but I have seen it opperate so just pulling the right levers I be guessing.Best bit is the dogs dont seem to mind it at all , where all small petrol stuff like mowers and strimmers they go mad . If Dexta is like Major theres probably double acting valve. In one position it works rear hydraulic lift and turned to the other it allows you to work front loader hydraulics. If i remember correctly the pump is in the back axle casing. They're usually reliable just need new seals occasionally. I love Fordsons Ive had Major Super Major and E27N petrol paraffin. 🥰 They're the best. You can get owners manuals, workshop and parts manuals on ebay.

Sunny but to cold outside for red oxide applications, not going above 5C so fire wood production it is ,with some electrical investigations into a non functioning oil warning light.

Decided oil warning light not easy fix so spent time ramming into muck heap to fill bucket before wheel spins then dumpimg on veg plot 200 metres away . Not been easy fix i mean I'm not convinced its even wired in as bulb was ok , sender check on cards , but it started on the button after -6 last night on heater button , and its driven over 2 hrs since I have had it . temps are ok and works , and no smoke issues , and pulls like horse . I think loom ? as theres wires sticking out all oner and burnt bits too . New loom only about £40 ? I thnk if it was low oil presh it would of expired already from my previous ignoring oil lighs ' but then swapping engins because of dicky sender . Lifes a pox of chocolart

Sounds like oil warning light problem could be a duff bulb, Bungo, if it ain't coming on at all when ignition switched on. Did you actually light up bulb during check, or just test with ohmmeter? Have you found sender unit, pulled off connector, and tested wire from lamp to a nearby earth with ignition on? oil light should come on.
If bulb okay, and wiring okay, it has to be sender unit defective. Are they available? It could be a generic one that fitted many engines of the period, in which case easier to find and fit.

The loom has some burnt bits and a few random bits of wire sticking out , and looks very 60 years old , and there cheap too . I found a wiring diagram on line , and it looks reasonable for me to get stuck in on it and try and tidy it up . . The headlights work fine , and the dynamo light. An oil warning light is only thing that gives me arse squeak not working . Less electrics better Drizzling and still near freezing out side so sorting through my veg seeds by the fire (not good for seeds )and see whats what and what needs restocking . 10% off black friday at premier seeds direct , which isn't much , but there cheapest and best in my op. Mmmmmm, I live tomato selection , but trying to limit myself to 10 varieries !

Fixed light , was a fault in loom so now rewired . Multi metres are the dogs testes !!! I think loom is on horizon , but not as much as new back tyres . To much relience on momentum than tread at thee moment , though not gotten stuck again doing muck heap manouvers. I'm in love already !!!

Thinking.me needs a tractor😁got reminded today, the light in the feedroom is dodgy.was aware that water pooring in when it rains, and runs straight over the switch,is not recommend.so gets a new waterproof switch.uj opens up the old switch..yup.quite damp in there.a live worm, slug, and dead spider!this is normal switch height,4ft ish.all safe now.the dog we call old girl had been off for a few days.off food.crying, she's 13,a welfare concern kidnap rescue, with her sister that didn't make it.she's quite needy.but grown to love her.don't think she has long😞
