Suffering with a bad back after falling out of the van after sampling Theakstones Old Peculia at Tan Hill Inn. Got woke up by water dripping on my face at 5am, don't know if it was Jnr dribbling on me but last week sealed 5 out of 6 leaks on the roof but this was in a different place and there was no sign of it after waiting up to see where it was from ffs. It was blowing a gale and hammering down at that time and just above freezing unlike the night before at Ribble where the windscreen was froze on the inside despite having the burner on and just a curtain separating the front. Brilliant stars there and several shooting stars. How long are you hanging around Tan Hill, Fen? I've spent most of the day at the hospital with my sister who had her first bout of chemo. Because it was the first time, she had to stay an extra six hours so that they could monitor her for unexpected side effects. Neither of us were aware, so I had to keep popping home to see to her animals and mine. I'm finally back for the night, as she is, so I can relax. No medical visits at all now till Monday, yippee. 😊 Alread headed back south via Kettleworth to lay up but still want to get back out as I've got that itch to wander again, see how tomorrow after dosing on pain meds and maybe south or west, somewhere drier tho. Got to be fit for end of the month as I'm in for an op. Was aiming to head east from there towards Scarboro and round via Rivelieux. Planned to go there when I was a kid with mates on scooters but never made it.

Hadn't had it for years, 7.5 cider no problem but that just hit me.

That would be good. It's the best time of year for me having been more in 'season' in the area in the past and getting most psd off with folks who drive glass chieftains and rarely acknowledge you. It's a beautiful area but Yorkshire has got to have one of the highest rates of selfish drivers that I've met for a long while especially the pensioners, miserable old gits in their cars gripping their steering wheels and looking straight ahead after I've put my motor on the verge for them to pass. Plenty of waves off the youngsters but the old, grumpy old bstards.

In the past just had a swift half but this time decided to parkup and fell asleep on the caepark instead of moving on to a spot just down the road. Another error, always wondered about the Thawite to Tan Hill road having always done the longer way but this time did it and nearly shit out out on the hairpins due to wet leaves and wet tarmac. NOT advisable for heavies or large motors as the sign says.
There's sweet FA there, the surroundings all bog, the roads are shite and there's a bit of a view, the beers at Dick Turpin prices, that said, it's still worth a visit. I do enjoy people watching nowadays, sad but it's amazing watching behaviours, three old Glasweigan bikers camping and reminiscing, courting couples and old farts trying out the pubs selection of alcofrolic coffees which seem to be the 'in thing'.

Been chainsawing a fallen beech tree for the last couple of days, that’s after I managed to get it down from where it was hung up in another tree, bloody hard work. Then logging up and transporting and stacking in wood store. Nice to have had a fire on site while working, Kelly kettle out for tea and coffee , sat by the fire listening to the stream, the popping and cracking of the fire, and birds singing and picking through the disturbed ground, blooming magic. 😁 If i dont get this job pp i could be stalking you..idillic work place😊

I've just had a chap from the nearby village knock on my door to find out about off grid living. His wife has EMS (electrical sensitivity) and they are struggling finding a way to live surrounded by pylons etc. Poor souls.
I'm on antibiotics at present, and to say my head is fuzzy is an understatement. You cannot usually persuade me to take them as I know that they don't agree with me, but with my sister being so ill and vulnerable to infection I am taking them to protect her.
Being ill at present myself, having these horrible chemicals in my system and being more than a little bit stressed over my sister is a perfect storm and I must have sounded mentally impaired at the very least, I do feel in a mental fog just now. 😁
Anyway, I gave him the address for here, and hope he joins, I think it would be useful for him.
