Pete your on lol, You have now encourged me to post more drivel lol. I post about things that interest me and try to comment when others have taken the trouble to post really interesting stuff, like on their blogs. I never posted much on the other site,but i feel much more comfortable here and have learnt a lot. Cant believe we have all been here a year next month. That soon went eh. I agree mate, I’m more comfortable here, more friends that really seem to care about each other, and the pm’s of encouragement I got when I was feeling down were really helpful . All thanks to VW for setting this up in the first place, ( you’ve done a great job) , and, wow, nearly a year gone by already. This also counts as one more post 😁👍 |

Think that's the reason I post here too, when I come on here it feels like I'm among friends. Bit of a loner at home apart from close family,no mates to call owt, but then I found the old place & sort of settled. When VW opened this place,all the good people seem to have come over & now I feel like I got some buddies again! Liking the comfy vibe here, long may it continue!...✌👍

Why do I post ? I don't really know, it just feels like when you want to chip in to a conversation in the pub - it might not be the smartest comment, but it's nice to be a part, to belong somehow, and know that your opinion will be considered, even if others disagree.
This is the only "non-specialist" forum I use, it's good because everyones background is different, I don't find it is populated by people like me, and that's a good thing - nothing is more boring than people who agree on everything.
Also, I learn a lot here. Not so much on technical subjects, which I have some experience of, but on the important aspects of relationships and interpersonal skills. Basically, it teaches me to be a nicer person. Some time ago, Cricket replied to me "are you used to people doing what you say...." which made me think and consider myself.
I'm a better balanced person through reading posts by IC and NC, to name just two.
Still a long way to go though ;-)

Why post here?When I found "the other place" it wasnt the site but the members I was drawn to who felt familiar and needed.Its lonely being a roving alternative hermit sometimes.Rolling stones gather no moss....moss is needed at times.Was lively and crazy felt invigorating knowing others like me came to the site fire spot to warm up awhile.Then the inevitable large group dynamics turned it sour which was sad.Then there was here.This site feels less full on than the last, but more easy and intimate somehow,a tighter fire circle,though we are still mostly strangers,identity and soul for the most part shines out.I know that for sure if I was in a bad pickle and called out, someone here would help me and I hope others know Id do the same.Harry offered me sincere and very big accom help over a year ago,though had not met me,for which I remain thankful and many others White Poppy,CT,LB have helped me through sht times. My posting is sporadic because it depends on signal,time and need to reconnect.

i post as it keeps me in touch with real people and the humour ( unlike the other place far too serious) plus as i,m travelling a lot of the time i don.t see that many actual people other than at festivals and bike rallies and get too shitfaced to remember them and as someone previously said all the good people moved over here. thanks

There seems a decent bunch of folk on here, that's why I like it, for the folk that don't take it too serious and don't judge you by your comments.
