It might be a good idea to get a mobile wifi (mifi) dongle bernie. They aren't the fastest, but they are fine for emails, forums or whatever. |

Yes gulf stream drift,as it does at times, was mentioned pete.Not stopping as it may with desalination. It relies on salinity and if over diluted with fresh water it could weaken and stop.If that stops we will freeze.When did the Thames freeze over? According to some idiot on TV about two weeks ago, all climate issues can be reversed if we stop eating beef. The sad thing is that I think he really sincerely believed it. This is part of the problem, far too many opinions |

People have opinions,its their right to hold and exoress them.
The problem is they may hold illogical opinions based on what they prefer to believe or their agenda rather than sciencific proof or the truth.

I don't think that the Amazon rainforest is carrying on "because climate change is a myth". It would carry on whatever the belief in climate change. It carries on because big business demands it. As ever, money.

The wildfires still raging in California.Money is nothing in the face of the forces of nature.I wonder if Trump etc will admit the environmental problems.We are very wet in Wales,yet the water table is still low.I can tell by the streams and rivers remaining unrisen by all the rain or is my logic incorrect?

I well remember when there was a high tide and heavy rain and the Wye and Severn backed up.Wasnt there an issue with the little church and graveyard near the Yat where bodies floated out of the graveyard?Though we get big floods every now and then here mostly its downstream away.The Severn takes much Welsh rain too.I hope the travellers marooned in Tewksbury make it out dry as the vans are their homes as opposed to all the holiday caravans that float off each year,here too,

We are certainly getting strange weather patterns. While California burned in a drought Florida was subject to icy winter temperatures not normal fir that region. In the same year arctic temperatures were 60C above normal and average daytime temperatures were 5C. With climate change -regardless of cause- will give us more extremes and violent weather.Long standing records keep tumbling. I wish after all the rain of the last several weeks,the water table was low here too but not so. I live on a hill but the ground is saturated.Ive had two inches of water around my trailer for weeks and the normally dry or intermittently trickling streams are gushing torrents. I look forward to an extreme winter cold event,it would make a pleasant change from living in a swamp. |
