Yes gulf stream drift,as it does at times, was mentioned pete.Not stopping as it may with desalination. It relies on salinity and if over diluted with fresh water it could weaken and stop.If that stops we will freeze.When did the Thames freeze over? Was it in the 60’s, ? before that , Victorian times ?

Im on borehole. Not had a harsh winter yet -but just a few inches of snow and Im locked in until the melt. I always marvel at drivers on films bombing around on white roads. I imagine they have nail studs in their tyres or something. I bought 'tyre chains' but they are far too complicated to bother with for just a few days. Might look into getting a drone for mrs Dukes pharmasuitz.[joke]

2 ton of split logs and half a ton of coal 3 full gas bottles 6=8 weeks of tinned food plus packets of dried food both motors serviced and fresh anti freeze 10 gallons of fuel for genny winter bedding washed dried and aired candles and batteries for emergency lights perspex ready for double glazing most of this stuff is in my walk in box trailer this is my core supply for the winter months, not sure how vanny copes but i like to be warm and comfortable

i was looking at prefab wood summer houses that insulated inside would make cushty gaffs. of course the problem is the state has given itself a monopoly over everything

dukeofearl and cornishharry you put more clothes on, and if very bad start the van and sit in the front with the heater on. This doesn't happen very often.
