I agree that it is madness ( hating christmas that is ). I woke up at about 1200 metres to perfect peace, did not see any humans all morning then I drove down the mountain to the village at the bottom where there were three people in the bar drinking wine in a very calm atmosphere. All a bit too hectic for me ;-)
Madness exists only if you choose to be around it. If it really does annoy you, majoritively it can be avoided. My christmas consisted of peace and quiet,a bit of good company and a damn long chat with my mum on the phone which was lovely too. I sent her some dvd's that she was happy with, gave some homeless guys outside a supermarket a load of extra strong lagers and some bags of crisp that I bought for them and they were delighted too.
Cooked myself a boil in the bag salmon in a parsley sauce up on the mountainside which I had with pea's and carrot's and saw only a mum and son out for a walk late afternoon.
Everyone I met over the christmas period was in a festive mood and happiness and generosity were very noticeable.
I think christmas has most certainly got a very positive side and all that love and happiness must go into the public psyché and help teach them thats how they would like life to be more often. cant be bad.
Anyone who goes through life with a bah humbug attitude is going to pick up on a bah humbug vibe , best concentrate on the beautiful thiungs I reckon !!!! :-)

I don't want to think about it. Worth every penny though.

I didnt really spend anymore than usual on food, bought a few treats with my tesco vouchers that i get from buying my petrol at the esso station that gives you clubcard points. But i did give my neice and nephew £50 each.

Eight pound more than i spend on normal week shopping and that only because i liked and bought a cheap cute tiny potted Christmas tree to brighten up my trailer. I dont buy presents or cards and dont get any back because i dont do Consumermas.
The only thing i have extra from this Christmas is a stinking cold and chest infection courtesy of my hosts on Christmas day... A gift im not overly thrilled with.
