You seem to conveniently ignore who funded the Mujahideen in Afghanistan against the Russians in the 80's and up to 90's from which AQ arose. Read the history instrad of rewriting it. Non of the recent post war administrations have been innocent of nefarious involvement with people who would be considered opposed to the US lead west.
But this is history not news and this is a nees thread.

No I haven't forgotten at all. The US, Saudi and Pakistan funded the mujihadeen to fight the Soviet invasion. The mujihadeen had many factions made up of different ethnicities, some more moderate than others. These factions then either fought the Taliban or joined them. The US then supported Ahmad Shah Massoud a Tajid Sunni whose militia defended Kabul from rival factions and then led the resistance - The Northern Alliance against the Taliban who hosted Al Quaeda. Massoud was assasinated at the behest of the Taliban and Al Qaeda by suicide bomb on September 9th 2001 2 days before the 9/11 attacks.

My life was perty good when I was young and there was no news . Just a bender in a hedge , we had a transistor radio and would listen to John peel when we cooked/ate . We didnt paticularly like peely , but it was a good signal and now and then he would play something good .My partner liked radio caroline , but it was out of transmision area even though our hedge was close to their kayak . I liked reggae so was fucked anyway . Most of our time was spent collecting wood/water/being rum generally . We didnt know what day it was , it was pretty irrelevant and it was rather nice .We never listened to the news , it was waste of battery Ignorance was bliss. Kinda wonder what it would of been like then if we had a Corona delivery?

@bungo I once read of a man who lived in London. During the Blitz he discovered about WW2 - until the bombs started dropping around him, he had no idea. That man was my hero for the longest time.

5 bottles got 20 Black Cat but the usual was to visit the pubs backyards and womble a few empties and then return them at the hatch for 3d a pop. Nearly every pub back then had a 'hatch' where no questions were asked as long as you fckd off out of sight after being served.

Hens can't even be rehomed due to bird flu restrictions. It's lose lose.
