That's radio 2 totally fucked imo. the BBC are simply part of the Evil Empire of mainstream media unfortunately ... a once fine institution sold down the bastard river - it's shameful. Like the NHS though, I admire the good folks who can stomach staying within these organisations - hanging on to and trying to hold the line ... bless them for their guts

typical Brits ... like typical yanks ... conformist and small minded. Shit, did I write that down - bugger, well at least I didn't say it loudly in the local Co-op and get tarred and feathered outta the village. So difficult to keep ones gob shut though, I often nearly get into trouble for kneejerk reacting to stupidity - which is I suppose why people conform - it's easier and less painful than getting beaten up and sent to coventry ...... conundrum ...

Have you actually bothered to read any of the Government LTN 1/20 proposals? Its fuck all to do with climate change (which will happen anyway and finish our way of life for good, Governments around the world already know that and why non of them are doing fuck all about it).
Its about making neighbourhoods here safer for residents especially children and more vulnerable people, reducing polution in residential areas, stopping traffic using side streets as high speed rat runs and making areas safer shared infrastructure for cycling and pedestrian use and also reduce car based crime opportunities. Its what places like the Netherlands have been doing for 30+ years
Accepted some councils have been heavy handed and imposed poorly thought out and designed measures with minimal public consultation which is unacceptable and undemocratic but opposing LTNs simply because they can when its trying to make peoples living environment more pleasant and more safe is just blinkered.
Noticeably its the selfish drivers and people who won't change how theyve lived for half a century are the most vocal. The same people that no doubt complain about drivers racing up their streets in commuting periods and how they dont feel safe in the street.
Im no fan at all of this government or local councils but the LTN 1/20 is probably one of the better policies any recent government has come up with to make residential areas safer and envourage people to feel safer on bikes and walking and encourage that and in most cases have been a reasonable success.

Erm ... "have I read"... I'm trying my best, just like you Cris - to try work out WTF is really going on ... underneath all the crap and confusion and mixed messages and distraction. Take the piss out of people who use their vehicles to have to get to their work places and their kids places of "education" etc etc - not everybody can cycle half a mile. Sounds like 15 minute cities are something you'd be voting for then ... and needing passports to get out into the countryside or to the coast occasionally. Let's get back to medieval living, where we don't get out of the village. Might be the way forward ? who knows - I am having difficulty hanging onto enough of my sanity and energy to even bother to stay alive. So, well, yeah, "I am reading" - but am also trying to work out what ACTION I can take every new day.
Right now, considering doing a leaflet run locally encouraging neighbours to turn their gardens into veg plots - for when the food chain is shot, trying to work out how to collect water for when the public utilities crash (when most of the workers have dropped dead because of the f'kin jabs) - how to find ways to stay warm, when the energy/utility systems are unavailable - and the military industrial complex has engineered local weather conditions into freezing ice, mud and flood.
The problems are big, deep and dark and the work of fallen angels. The only route out is going to be BIG LOVE, a daring to put aside personal predjudices and a human tendency to hate and despise and blame each other ... rather than uniting and trying to communicate and find middle ground, mutual understanding - and an end to division. Loads of love man .... loads of love. Hope you have a great day - praying to The Great Spirit for guidance x thehighwire.com/

Id vote for any party that gives sensible affordable fully integrated public transport that caters primarily for pedestrians cyclists and disabled and that reduces car use and or dependency and returns streets to people not cars. My kids live in Oxford a heavily congested city like Cambridge and the LTNs have in most places improved the areas...but you wont change some people because their arse is permanently ideologically welded to a car seat. Congestion wont improve with electric cars either but it will certainly improve if more people take to bikes and most dont take to bikes because in the current car dominated towns and cities they don't feel safe to. I grew up in a rural village 7 miles from a town when hardly anyone had a car, people used bikes, legs or buses. People in Finland cycle all winter in ice and snow even though they've got cars I live in a rural area now, theres no buses shops or fuck all but wall to wall chelsea tractors. Why is is it in this country people are so lazy and hopeless but mosn like f7ck if anyone dare try making their living environment quieter and safer.

Yes but that's how they can track all these potential Jihadis by trawling through the websites they access and looking at who they are talking to If they want to check up on my social media they are more than welcome to any time they like. They are going to find it very boring though

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-64261624Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said the new measures were part of his government's drive to leave "the environment in a better state than we found it". This government is a fucking joke ... 'Ignore the fact we're allowing the pumping billions of tons of shit into your rivers and onto your beaches though - swimming in faeces is good for you' Tory Turd Reich
