The East and former USSR countries have changed a lot in 30 years,theyre not the meek and subdued people fearful of the state any more. They tolerate it thats all. Putin isnt impenetrable, Russia has always had its own unique way of dealing with seemingly indispensable leaders its got bored with.Hes made himself a lot of powerful enemies in the Russian military FSB, GRU.
Someone will get him or his entire circle. Theyll take off the whole head of the snake if they have to.

But they still went out in their cars and died..28 deaths in Buffalo alone.The majority of the deaths are car related ( accidents or trapped in snow and died from exposure).People who live in thos conditions most of the year in the arctic circle dont go out in those conditions. In the open on -50 without arctic clothes and skills youll be dead in minutes.

People die every year in their cars during snowstorms in upstate New York. It is a life threatening situation to break down or get stuck in a snow drift.
You take serious precautions before you head out anywhere because the distances can be long between towns or even settlements. Proper clothes and supplies in the car
Old newspapers are better than blankets to wrap around you for insulation.
Candles (suprisingly) for a bit of heat and light
Food, usually biscuits, because you will be on that road for at least over night and it could be days
You only run your engine for ten mins every hour is what they advise and always keep your tank topped up and 4x4s are popular because of the harsh winters
The woman who died in buffalo came from South Carolina so its quite probable she didn't appreciate the extent of the risk she was taking. She was only stranded for 18 hours which would not be considered unusual by the locals up there. She was found dead when help got to her after 18 hours.
When I was over there cell phones weren't used in country areas (no signal) so you would have to wait for the next snow plow. Always assuming you were sensible enough to be on a road that got plowed

We had a catalytic converter stolen off our car last year. Police were totally uninterested. Three others went the same night that we know about. Local bloke "in the know" says it's Albanians and you don't want to confront them if you see them messing with your car because they are extremely violent. It appears the police hold the same opinion |

There is obviously money in fleecing stupid people.
They are an online betting company so once all the programmes have been written and the algorithms worked out they just have to sit back and let the computer do everything.
Virtually no human intervention, no shops, no staff to take the bets and settle the winners payouts.
It's a sign of the way the world is rapidly going, on line shopping, on line car insurance, on line banking etc
Even serve yourself tills in the supermarkets. Jobs are being stripped out all the time. Well, proper jobs are, we will all end up delivering parcels for hermes or working in a car wash.
