First up, I have to say I'm not a fan of Facebook. I can't argue with the fact though, that Facebook has taken a lot of traffic off the forums. So to be clear, I do prefer the forums. There's also the fact that Facebook mines data wholesale. If this forum does that, I can't control it nor do I profit from it. So what's your pros and cons for both Forum and Facebook?

Forums put you in touch with like minded people from theoretically the same interest. & lifestyle group. Facebook is a soulless entity, the spawn of the devil that exists to harvest your information and suck the very soul from your life. I get the impression it is there so every giggling fuckin schoolgirl everywhere can tell the whole world what they had for breakfast & when they last had a shit! (I don't like facebook)

Another thing I don't like about facebook is the fact it actually moves too fast (OK, maybe for me) Say something new, a couple of your freinds comment, then it drops down and it's gone an hour later. Imagine if this forum was ALL in one topic or thread. Anything useful would be lost amongst all of the comments. While we are at it, I don't do likes. If I made a thread and all I got was likes to the first comment, it would look pretty boring at a glance. It doesn't take much longer to actually post "me too" or "I like that" and it's possible opening the post might mean the poster says a little bit more. The same thing with emojies. A like or a smiley face is hardly a reply!! I don't use the like button, and very very rarely just post a smiley.

I hardly use Facebook now myself and gravitate more towards forums.

I enjoy facebook for keeping in contact with friends and family as I live many klms from my home state.
I prefer forums as you can discuss about so many different different topics that interest you.

I don't use FB much only to look at pictures of family etc that live in England. I have been using forums since 2002 and really enjoy them, I love the interaction aspect and making new online friends from all ages and walks of life. Happy to be here

I cant say i enjoy facebook,at least not anymore and definitely not like i used. I find it useful for things but if it disappeared i dont think i will grieve for more than a few minutes. I think plenty of folk are falling out of love with the place, especially the young, so maybe the writing is on the wall. They did themselves no favors getting caught over the data scandal and im loath to believe this was an isolated incident. It seems even Americans have had enough www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2018/09/05/americans-are-changing-their-relationship-with-facebook/?amp=1&__twitter_impression=trueThen again i cant say ive much love for forums or social media in general.Ive substantially cut most of my social media presence -disillusionment being my primary motive- Im concentrating on my main interest of photography and creative arts, things that stimulate me mentally and help avoid negativity that swamps the world and floods the internet. I dont see it as forums v facebook as to me theyre both the same, both part of the same problem,a problem id rather not be part of.
