I know that there is at least one member on here that needs no convincing about the crows cleverness. I have recently noticed an increase in the amount of fast food waste being left in our lane, I havnt been able to catch who it is presumably parking up for their lunch and then leaving the remains there.... until today that is. We have a motorway and slip road adjacent to our lane, the crows sit on the top of the street lighting and watch for dickheads throwing crap from their vehicles, then swoop down, pick the whole McDonald's bag up, fly back to our lane and investigate the contents in safety 😂 I did wonder yesterday how a Subway meal could be thrown about 30ft into a field 🤣🤣

On the park way road near us its a 60 mph limit. Youll often see crows picking at roadkill and as cars approach they just casually hop back over the white line on the left of the road till the car has passed.

Only downside to crows we have rescued was the volume of poo.For the amount that goes in ,an extraordinary amount comes out. There were many magical moments though.Sitting on my shoulder eye to eye,I wasnt sure if he was going to peck me but he studied me for a long moment then carefully took some of my hair in his beak and ran his beak down it.I think he was testing what i was as no beak was in evidence on me.Left leg never fixed completely so was taken to a lovely wild rescue. After being put in with a younger one he got it to feed him very quickly.Until you live with one you dont realise the incredible range and complexity of language they have.Sadly caged crows are available online. Also persecuted by scumbag gamekeepers etc.Cages are my hate for wild ones. The spare bedroom ,including curtains was in a terrible state after 4 days though.

Meant to post this yesterday but early evening a flock of about 1000 crows passed over my place travelling east. Never seen so many in my life, pigeons yes but not crows. It was an amazing sight.

Tried looking up to see what significance such a gathering would have if any but only found that they flock to roost. Most odd.

There was a lot of crow flocking action here yesterday, At one point I noticed 30 or so of them had all lined up along the ridge of a neighbours house, stayed for a few minutes then re-joined the flock.
