Longest bus trip in the world due to launch next year .. Delhi to London/London to Delhi 70 days and a mere £15000 for the full 20000 km trip. If you fancy an adventure repeating the long distance bus rides of 50's and 60's 'hippy run' bustolondon.in/Run by adventuresoverland.com/#Currently the longest is 6200 km Lima Peru to Rio de Janiero Brazil.

I have noticed whilst watching endless documentaries about allsorts on YouTube just lately that the traveller type documentaries from times past (whether Hippy trail, New Age Travellers, back packers or whatever) all feature people who look like they rough it quite a bit of the time and make do with what they can get and so on. The more current day ones seem to feature people who look very fancy and drive very well kitted out vans. Maybe the grungy looking ones just don't put things on YouTube so much now? (And for what it's worth, I prefer the scruff bags ).

The trouble is its hard to differentiate between genuine travellers and the paid social media influencers with hundreds of thousands of followers being paid by top name companies to subtley market their products and brands. Theres a few been caught out at it.
They claim to have given up their job for a life roughing it around the globe but theyre actually being paid a small fortune in sponsorship.
I stopped watching most of those lifestyle and van dweller videos because theyre clearly not struggling on a thread financially and obviously doing to sell books dvds rack up advertising revenue on youtubr or attract lucrative product sponsorship deals.
So much about the Internet is false and fabricated and ive lost interest in trying to decide who is real and who are just scammers.
In all honesty if id got 15k to spare for travelling i wouldnt be doing it sat in a cramped bus for 70 days when you do a full year world cruise for around the same money or buy a van and do it yourself a lot cheaper... But each to their own i guess.

Even with a cushion don't think my ass would last more than 200 miles on a shitty bus, then there/s the thought of being within earshot of some ponce who's full of shite, there's usually one on long trips. Did a few booze cruises to Bologne in the 80s, never again so going for 70days, fck that for a game of soldiers.

Says me with only a bus pass at the moment! I wonder if I can use if on the £15,000 bus journey Lol x

Yeah lots of things are money spinners now, I do prefer proper adventure's, whether it's because the area is remote or unusual or because someone's doing it very cheap. It's just more interesting than lots of hotels and fancy car hire.

Oh lonewolf, stop being such a negative wet blanket !!
If valdez wanted to do it by vehicle then he could do it even with the current restrictions. With vigilence and a positive mindsetneverything is doable even with covid !
There is no such thing as not possible :-)
