Is it just me or is anybody else amazed that robbery hasn't been reported as being on the increase, now it's not so odd to see somebody in a mask? A masked man walks into a petrol station shop and robs it. The police ask what he looks like, he's wearing a mask, like the rest of the customers! Seems like a bit of a gift to criminals

I did wonder if bank robbers would be going to do their work without masks so that they could look different from the norm !!

Be good for identity parades . Unless you get picked out by mistake . What happens if you do get picked out? Has any one on here ever been on one ? I think it would be an interesting experience if nothing bad came of it .

It shouldn't be necessary to make something compulsary when its so obviously sensible that people should be doing it without having to be told.

Can't say I have noticed more crime in my area. Then again, we do live in the East LA of the county, so maybe that's it!

got arrested once for a mugging, and was identified in an I,D parade i wasn't anywhere near that town but could not prove it, it dragged on for months and i had to report to the law every week. finally got to court and no case to answer. i even had a naval lawyer with me. i lost seniority over that as it took 4 months to come to court as i missed two postings

Rural crime statistics Rural crime statistics There will be further investment in the Rural Policing Team. MORE than half of farmers and rural business owners have been a victim of crime in the previous 12 months – with another quarter saying they are worried about becoming a victim.
Figures presented to the Police and Crime Panel last Friday showed that as well as the 52 per cent of Devon and Cornwall farmers and rural-specific business owners who had been victims and the 26 per cent who feared they would, only 26 per cent felt their local police were doing a good job.
The National Police Chief’s Council Rural Affairs (NPCC RA) highlighted that, ‘the fear of crime as increasing and a low satisfaction rate of police performance in rural areas, and as a result, Devon and Cornwall Police have doubled their number of Rural Neighbourhood Beat Managers (NBMs) as part of their Approach to Rural Crime.’

The first thing the police ask is "any CCTV"? Er, it's a barn in a field with no power, let alone wifi.

we are too far from any big city for them to bother with, most of these criminal gangs are from the midlands or the smoke, last crime here was about 8 years ago and a gang from upcountry ripped out the ATM with a stolen digger and forklift at 4 in the morning, that ATM no longer exists nor does the bank it was attached to.
