If Mrs Dukes gets wind of loo role shenanigans Im going to have a struggle dissuading her from wearing the roll around her neck and while Im bitching what is it with super market bakery counters offering food samples. I turn around and Mrs Dukes ( she has an electric chair- natch!) has an entire cake in her mouth, adamant its free to taste. I can tell she knows its not but If laugh, she giggles and if she giggles...well.. she... doesn't stop. The consequences I wont go into, but lets just say she could get electrocuted.

I know this is deeply not funny and you will only commiserate with the house holder and especially the cleaner. Such is the infinite humanity of good people everywhere.

Finally found some bogroll!!!ππππΎπ»π Limited to 1 pack per customer, but I had Jenn with me so we got 1 each. Don't do the panic buying bollocks, just been getting my usual stuff then I realised if I don't get certain stuff when I can I won't get any cos the fucking loonies will just keep buying everything they see. Managed to get a few bits for my landlord too, they've got an 8 week old baby & can't get fuck all so good deed done for the day....

This is the problem, isn't it, people being ridiculous and then buying everything in sight and it means that other people then end up having to buy more than they usually would because they can't get out again and don't know how long they'll be without for. We've been so lucky so far that we've been able to get what we need and then it's been there again two days later when I've gone back because we need it again. Hopefully that will continue. Good on you for getting the landlord a few bits, I can't even imagine how I'd be feeling if this had been going on when my son was a little chap x

I normally buy things like bogroll & kitchen roll in big packs anyway, so only really doing what I normally do. Babywipes I usually have a couple of packs in for washing with so it saves water. Just a suggestion for anyone struggling for bogroll, don't forget some builders merchants (B&Q,Wickes etc as well as janitorial & ppe suppliers like ARCO & Greenham tool) usually stock large packs of stuff like bogroll & blueroll paper wipes....

Blue roll, kitchen roll wet wipes and newspaper blocks modern sewage systems. Modern housing doesn't have the same old big porcelain pipes and lots of drop (ie the downward slope on the pipes). Modern housing is built to minimum spec required. Modern toilet tissue virtually turns to mush as soon as it gets wet, try a sheet and see for yourself. The flats where my mother lives were built about 20 years ago and since she moved here about 11 years ago I have become very knowledgable about backed up sewers. It happens every couple of years, a lot of the residents are Asian and they pour cooking oil down the sink. Add a few wet wipes etc and its blocked.

Wasn't suggesting using blue roll etc as toilet paper. Can't get kitchen roll here for normal kitchen use, blue roll is a substitute for that mate. Baby wipes always go in the bin when used as they contain plastic....

You won't but others will, on our local community website somebody was talking about how they always used newspaper when she was a girl, the implication being we can do it again if we have to.

Thinking the worst panic buying might be coming to a slow now. Only so much stuff the country can buy before nobody has any room left! Couple of local shops round here have bogroll back on the shelves for more than 25seconds now, hoping the job is getting a bit calmer now. Ol' man said he was in Tesco on Saturday, woman came through a till with 6gallons of isotonic water. Cashier asked her " what are you gonna do with that lot?" Woman said "dunno, don't know what it is really!" Said she came in for something else that was out of stock, so wasn't going to leave empty handed!, Fucking idiot....π‘

What is isotonic water, anyway??!
