I thought that it was a sarcastic piss take done with irony, oh well, I was close !!
In the same vain I have spent a few days getting my mum into a frame of mind so we can get a new washing machine which becomes a mega situation for her, which meant cleaning out the cupboard under the sing so that I could re-decorate and clean it up so the guy who delivers a machine will not be shocked by the state of it,then cleaning up and painting where we got the old machine out of as the last one was there for twenty years, then looking around to see what she fancied then spent all day going through them today to finally after much stressing she decided that I could order one of the first I had deamed best to suit her needs. Finally got around to ordering it as the argos site said delivery within a week with fitting and getting rid of old machine, and as I got near to the end of the order the delivery time was not for three weeks. Mum who was not going to hurry to get one got stressed as it would be too long !!!!
The simple pleasure of the day was actually spending that time with her and having a few laughs and helping her slowly get jobs done that she is not great at on her own, or with others for that matter !! Patience is a virtue :-)

It is indeed a virtue, i have limited patience and non whatsoever for people who promise sincerely but insincerely fail to deliver.

Am with you there. I can spend days without moving with the hope of seeing a wolf or bear, build perfect dry stone walls and do a tidy pointing job which all need good skills of patience, but if someone has told me that they will be there at 2PM, by 15 seconds after that my patience is being stretched !! Not too bad at being patient with mum though as I know she has her strange ways, and thats coming from someone completely normal like me :-)

One simple pleasure today was helping in the painting of the inside walls of a local Scout Hall, by our local community group. Changing it from an ageing baby-shit green to a very light grey. It looks so much lighter and brighter in there now.

They took it off in 2004, as it was considered politically incorrect.

I received a letter from a friend in Japan a while back, on beautiful writing paper, so I got some myself and we have been writing the old fashion way, there’s something about sticking it down and attaching a stamp, putting in the post box, it’s like an old friend, it’s becoming a lost art.

You are not wrong my friend. I tried to write the alphabet a few weeks ago and actually got stuck on a couple of letters. The only writing that I do nowadays is just jotting down names and numbers or writing down the upcoming wales rugby fixtures and over time capital letters have sneaked on in there. It is very much a case of use it or lose it !!

I used to love writing letters by hand. Nowadays I have nobody to write them to, and even if I did, my hands are painful and I struggle to hold a pen for more than a few lines.
I'm grateful to having a word-processor on my phone. ☺️

I used to use processed peas that I bought in big boxes from the local shop so that I could be a git with my pea shooter :-)
