Unfortunately I think O'Leary is right. Passengers won't observe the quarantine, and there isn't manpower to police it.

At least it's a lifeline for some folk but a clear indicator that they're realising that that this virus is here to stay. Come October we will be approaching the flu season and I can still see us all locked down.
BBC reported that the deathrate in carehomes is dropping............................... perhaps because all the really weak and vunerable have already died or am I being cynical.

Sadly the true figure will never be known but some governments have directly lied such as the Chinese and Iran whereas most of Europe has not counted all or have massaged the figures in one way or another. Our NHS has had cutbacks but we've not been overrun like the Spanish or Italians who had peeps on floors in corridors, we have coped so far.
Basically everyone has lied or hidden the full truth in one way or another which is why all figures mean sod all at this present time because if the truth was out there would be panic amongst the sheep.

Coronavirus will cost £300bn and us big in tax rises and spending cuts. It's to be expected for everyone at some point way in the future to be squeezed until the pips squeak but they won't do it just yet until we're back on our feet.
It was obvious that there are to be hard times ahead in one way or another and they'll be looking at every way they can to rebuild the lost economy, every government in the world will be doing the same whilst China gets off scot-free. I can see relations with that country going downhill for a long time to come.

There's boatloads of the twunts still trying and once here, free board and lodgings for life thanks to our stupid system which needs a serious rethink. War refugees, yes but IMO economic refugees can fck right off unless they have professional skills that we can use and can pay their way.
As for flights and holidays abroad, they should be banned full stop likewise in this country all movements should be to a minimum until this thing is beaten and we should not be having anyone flying in at all. It only takes one selfish infected family from the Midlands to go on holiday to Wales or Scotland or Cornwall and there's then a trail of potential infection enroute and at the destination.
Every time one goes out of the door it's Russian roulette on catching it.

What will hurt most is being bled dry even more than usual, while the rich suffer no I'll effects whatsoever. If the big businesses were forced to pay a fair amount of tax, as well as everyone else, it would no doubt soften the blow....

Or putting the cause of death as other existing medical condition....but i am being cynical. Actually there is a growing number of people who are saying their relative didn't die with covid, particularly in care homes but the doctor recorded the death as covid. There is a reason for this, a lot of doctors are not going into care homes at the moment. If a patient dies without having been seen by a doctor before they died there has to be a PM. Possibly even an inquest, but registrars are allowing that to be by-passed if the cause of death is covid because of capacity. So maybe the deaths are being over recorded? Who knows?
