You know what? I believe that. The danger of panic is greater than the danger from the virus

Thats always been the case, the risk of disruption to infrastructure and supply chain is greater than the danger of the virus itself...unless it changes..

People do panic about all sorts, it's human nature to try to protect yourself but I think we're all so disconnected from ourselves these days that 'protection' generally seems to involve us thinking if we spend enough money we'll be okay I'm not going into overdrive about it. If a case did pop up locally I'd keep my son home from college; the various disabilities he has hadn't seemed in the past to make him more prone to catching things but since he's been going there we've both had more coughs, colds and upset stomachs than ever before. So I'd keep him home, more because I know other parents will send their kids in ill and a lot of the staff go in when they're sick as well. One friend of mine did tell me he's stocked up on dog food, tobacco and gin so he's ready for anything Lol

I've been chuntering on long enough to people and on forums to prepare and have quietly stocked up over the last few weeks whilst getting laughed at. The sheep are just waking up and trying to do what they should have done over the same period. There wouldn't be panic if they had done so as there's been plenty of warnings from around the world for all to see.
My only immediate reservation now is knowing when to lock the front door and at some point in the future have to consider 'deliveries'.

Flybe has gone bust, they were on the edge anyway but bookings have dropped through the floor. Other airlines are said to be at risk

Flybe has gone bust, they were on the edge anyway but bookings have dropped through the floor. Other airlines are said to be at risk I'll bet there's some bargains to be had on business class trips and especially on cruises if you could be sure of whom you're sharing the space with................
On a more serious note I just don't accept the governments mentality on now refusing to divulge new UK cases until Fridays of the week. Drip feeding is surely better so folks know 'what' and 'where' and are kept informed and not suddenly get 'there's 500 new cases' which would surely cause more panic than good. Tossers.
The UK map shows cases up and down the country so it's now widespread, nearest to me that's been reported is 9 miles away !

I dont understand the logic of not telling people about new cases until Fridays. But i wouldnt expect any logic to come from this government anyway.Theyre not the brightest matches in the box. What do they think the teaction will be when they say the number of cases has gone from 90 to 3000 in a week.
Hey ho, we're all illiterate plebs incapable of digesting knowledge.

The effect on business is the main concern, its not just about people cancelling flights. Cinemas restaurants exhibitions, festivals, schools etc People will be staying away. So staff will get laid off
The more you think about it the more examples come to mind
