Good to hear you were okay after the AZ vacc GIST.I had a very bad time with it.I wonder why it gets some so bad.Maybe its the GP.Some dont store it properly and it deteriorates causing something scientifically akin to a venom reaction. If you want the science on that I will try to find it.Bit concerned as Dr said I ant have the second shot. That will render me utterly unemployable if you need both for a vacc card that work will acept. Why did they say you can't have the second shot? It is odd how it affects different people but then the virus has been like that as well - all very unpredictable. Sorry you had such a bad time with it. A couple of my friends have been horrendously ill, some just a bit under the weather and some like me with no reaction at all. I think all the drug taking in the 90s has made me impervious lol x All your friends who were badly affected need to do a "yellow card" report if they havent already done so,many people dont bother but we all need to so they can get a better idea of how the vaccine reacts. On the 3rd day after the Astra Zeneca shot I had a 3 hour episode of Paralysis, unable to connect the thought of moving to actual movement. It was very peaceful and I remained aware and awake, part of 6 days of all the symptoms listed very bad.Weird as the time passing felt like 10mins but was 3 hours on checking phone. The GP freaked out and had me in for blood tests and said I cant have the 2nd shot. They keep telling people their bad reactions are "rare" but that is bullsht as half the people i spoke to have bad reactions to the AZ.

Wow Cricket that sounds horrendous! Did they know why you had such a bad reaction? Will they give you a shot from a different vac or will you just have to manage on the one? Sounds very scary.

Apart from the nurse shouting at me that I should have gone to hospital...the surgery just told me to take a paracetemol when I rang in.....and the surgery nurse panicing and taking lots of blood 2 weeks after the event and telling me I cant have a second shot, noone at all has told me anything, responded or been in touch.Feel utterly dispensible.Reduced blood flow to the brain can be related to clotting which is already a noted effect.

I keep some dispersible aspirin handy, Cricket, since I heard about the clotting. If I suspect any effects that could be due to reduced blood flow I would take a couple in water. The dispersible type are taken into the system and have a thinning effect quite quickly. I learnt about this when we did first aid many years ago, used for suspected heart attack and strokes, while waiting for ambulance to arrive. I don't know if this is still recommended practice, though.

Thanks.x At the time the clotting wasnt recognised as an issue and I didnt know what was happening nor that my far out dreamlike peace as because my brain was likely being deprived of oxygen.Only ever had that effect before on good weed. Still no gp follow up.Its utter sht this old dispensible feeling.I think back of all the hard work and effort over my life.I wish I had dossed out more.Id be in the same fix but would of had more fun.

Hugs, Cricket. I have found the attitude of dispensibility very hard to deal with. I hope that someone does 'something'. It's hard when you're left hanging. I know with my son I have to chase and push and jump up and down all the time and it's so demoralising. I hope they sort something out. Do you feel back to normal now after the reaction? x

Normal? I have spent many years pondering that .I dont honestly know GIST.We adapt to our internal consciousness, probably "rebooting" every time we wake from sleep and subtle changes are likely go unnoticed by us all.As Ive got older,I have become used to aches, pains and weird physical and mental anomalies appearing.Today my wrists are suffering and my hands have transient numbness and pins and needles with muscle weakness. However, yesterday I was driving in fence posts and using a wrecking bar to drive through shale with the blunt end of the log splitter to get them in deep enough and the vibration was extensive.I have destroyed myself far more over years of renovating old houses than the damage any vaccine could do probably. No more meds.Dont trust the medics at all now.The knowledge that we are all only inconsequential dots to the government very clear.I know of your battles for your offspring, similar to my own.Now they are "an adult"I have no control and they have abandoned offspring in question. They may not offer them any vacc at all though as they are young.I can do nothing.Mutual hugs back. x

And we do get used to various bits and pieces hurting or not working as well as they used to. Sorry there is no offer of vaccine for your lad though, I think too many have missed out on being put in the right category. We were lucky on that score as my son was in one of the priority groups so he got his a couple of weeks after me (was poorly for a morning but perked up by lunchtime). So we've both escaped anything serious with it, thank goodness. I hope your wrists feel a bit better soon though (and well done for getting all that done, that sounds like a lot of work!) x

Lol, times do change! I used to be able to do so much more than I can now. I got some new bedroom furniture for my son, just a bed and wardrobe but taking the old stuff apart and getting it down the stairs and lugging all the pieces of the new stuff up and putting it together finished me off. There was a time I'd have knocked through that without any problems, we're all getting older Lol x
