Ha ha ha! It's just been said on LBC that sightings of the parrots go back to the 1880s so scientists have discounted the filming theory.

They've certainly been known about all of my life, I remember reading about them back in the ah, 1800s, when I was a little girl.
There are other colonies around the country, too.

Talking to my old man this week, apparently the village of Ledsham near Castleford has around 200 green parrots flying around the area.

I expect just like Pheasant,some rich knobhead decided it would be a good idea to bring them here and let them go.I think.it would have to have been after 1850 because before then the winters would have been too cold for them to survive or stay.
