bernie it's actually where the shops are reputed to get back into the black in the US. It's the Friday after thanksgiving, where more people are expected to be in the shops as many take off the Friday after Thanksgiving to bridge with the weekend.

One of the reasons I love rural India. life rolls on at a never changing pace , no news , no internet , no phone , no bollotics , just things like so and so is having a feast cos there getting married in a month , but dont come before 8pm as were in the fields . Were killing a goat and will gave gulam jamun.

When I see "sale" prices I just think about how much profit they're making every "normal" day. Sale items still make the seller some profit, just greedy the rest of the time....

not been in a shop for years other than a supermarket for supplies, there is or so i,m told a huge shopping mall type thing been near me, not been yet only been open 5 years

Needed dogfood for the kids and I stick with Alpha as it suits Jnr who's got a dodgy tum and was aiming today for a 10 mile trip to town where it costs £17 something. Thought I'd check online and found black friday deal of £11.00 + delivery or 2 bags free delivery. Jnrs and the old girl have now got 2 bags enroute.
If they can deliver at that price and make a profit just what mark-up is there in the first place ffs. Same with the regular 'special offers' for food in shops. Just no wonder that they're not bothered about binning good food on its sell-by date.
