Black Friday was originally when people had a holiday in the US (Thanksgiving?) and took the Friday, if it was Thursday that year. The larger amount of people in the shops meant the shops went into the black (in credit) before Christmas.

I can't stand Christmas, it is just one big commercialised consumerfest, the shops become annoying, people become annoying, the annoying perfume adverts every 5 minutes on the television, then the charity adverts popping up to play on your heart strings, because £3 a month is what it apparently takes to sort the world out this Christmas. Christmas eve is the daftest, people in the supermarket with the trolleys overflowing with food, despite the shops being closed for only 24 hours, you would think they were preparing for a global famine. Then there is the dinner with all the food, it is extra work. I feel sorry for folk who have lots of relatives around each year, they must have no time for themselves cooking all day, especially if their relatives are lazy sods who do not lift a finger to help with anything.
Can not wait until it is all done with, the only spirits visiting me for being a grumpy sod this Christmas will be Rum and Whisky.

yeah we could sit in a corner and compare meds, discuss aches and pains, share memories of when our xmas pressies consisted of a tangerine and a shiny penny, no fucking thankyou, i wanna get pissed,stuff my face with goodies and forget this shit political world if only for a short while

I see hippies quite often from the other site, years ago they used to have the Trevstock event in a random field for a few days, got to know quite a few hippies.
